but how do you become a trusted seller without selling stuff first???

as someone said in another thread, if you are out there to scam someone for £400 or more... then, paying £30 to become platinum and spend a few months getting a good rep and a nice post count; is immaterial and doesn't really compare to what you get at the end of it

thats actually quite a lot of effort ..unless your going for a good few grand then I dont see it being worth it ..but your right its a catch 22 ..ultimately its about being known and trusted by another user and getting them to vouch for your credibility (which annoys the tit's off of me on threads but so be it)

One way is meeting as many peeps off these boards as you can, maybe with a face to a name trusting that person could be slightly easier, failing that atleast you know who too look for in the next tourney :p

I wonder where such an event could be organized....hmm.....oh isnt there a forum battle happening soon ;) :p

thats quite weird that, as a similar thing is arranged for exactly the same day at my local for the guys off of another board, quite strange really... no, i didn't pinch your idea i promise :D we've had it arranged since before i was on here :)

and yeah, people vouching for others and the kit theyre selling is a bit excessive in the classifieds... maybe we should have approved trader feedback sections and vouched for trader sections, for all users to set ONE up of each (differnt place to platinum's {know you like your little special spot :p}) and then, when someone is selling, you can check in there and see who knows the seller and what feedback theyve got from before... any good??? :D

No :p

Just buy off people you know or trust.

Simple really.

Oh - and for anything of 'value' I always do the 'meet-up' thing (or get a trustee to do it for me).
