Planet Piper away from you freaks!
So this would be the same system that won What Paintball Gear air system reveiw? This would be the same System that Nexus and the Sharks have used all year ?

Why is it over priced? What would be the right price?

And a hype machine....... Wtf?

I think he was pretty clear on it. If the Scion won WPG air system review and the Sharks and Nexus are using them, it's a fair guess that's what he's talking about.

I have to admit, there is alot of hype over the Evil gear and it's usually over hype (as with the Omen when it was released, the Scion, all of their accessories...). I'd have to disagree (or at least question the statement) on price though, Scion seems like a fair piece of kit for the price??

3 years ago £300 would have been acceptable.

Now you can get a preset reg for £40, why would anyone want to spend the extra £260?

I would pay about £120 for the scion, thats cos its a good looking reg.
If you can point out any other advantages over my current 5000psi preset system, then I am more than willing to revise my opinion.

1) Mate £300 3 years ago was cheap for any air system.

2) Erm the Scion comes with a bottle.

3) What about the bottle?

4) It is not a pre set.

Ah £300 with a bottle, thats not as bad then
Still too overpriced for my student pocket though...

I would still rather have a preset though. I am running an inline reg so I dont need the adjustablility.
I can put my air system on any gun with an ASA.

What advantage does the scion have over, a preset??
I cant think of any...

John,

The Present vs adjustable argument has been done to death for years. At the end of the day (like most things) it's down to personal preference. Some people want a cheap option, others would like to tweak and tinker with things.
Comparitively, the Scion has one of if not the highest flow rate out there, push on/off, and is one of the better looking systems. On the other hand Pre-sets surch as the Pure Energy offer a low cost and low hassle system, which many people prefer.

Each to their own mate, Im suprised I even had to explain that to a clever fella like yourself!

Regarding a new gun, The PMI/Evil Tech's are always looking at innovating and improving products, from the low end of the market right up to top tournament gear. So I'm sure the'll be another coming out in the future. Nothing has been revealed as of yet.

Sorry if thats too much hype for you guys

Peace.

Tommy
