I will go back and read Angels and Demons, it just felt far too similar as I'd just finished reading Da Vinci Code at the time.

I'm not a huge fan of King's in general, although I did love The Stand and The Dark Tower series is awesome so far (I'm up to book 4) but it's not particularly similar to his usual work.
found the dark tower series very throw away andy the first book was a real strugle it was like steven king trying to do a poor mans jon shannow but chucking every trick in the book at it :)

all thats true unless i have my books muddled ;)

Looking for a team.
depending of your mood or intrests...the books by steven ambrose are excellent...if you like your true world war 2 history from the eyes of the men who were there...books i would recommend...d-day and my all time favourite- pegasus bridge...
thats if your into that sort of thing...aside from that i am afraid i am a sci fi fantasy reader so its all brooks, pratchette and the likes.

Ian Banks - The Wasp Factory or other titles such as Canal Dreams

Ian M Banks (Ian Banks' Science Fiction Genre) - Prefer these more personally, insane scale and depth, try titles such as: Against a Dark Background, Use of Weapons, Excession, The Algebraist, The Player of Games

Alternatively other good reads recently:

Life of Pi
The World According to Clarkson

The Black Hawk Down book before the film came out. (my favourite film ever). Thats like the only book i have read and would want to read. Id rather read paintball magazines or no books at all. So apart from that book above im really not a book person.

Still a great book though^^

Why doesn't that surprise me? Maybe try another book in ten years or so and double your lifetime reading list;) And I have to concur with Terry Pratchett (Night Watch and Thud were great:)) and Lee Childs, if you like a bit of police stuff then John Sandford's Prey series are pretty good, starting with Rules of Prey. And whilst we're serial killing, Thomas Harris' books before Hannibal are all superb. Lastly for a bit of a wild card check out David Niven's autobiogs, The Moon's a Balloon and Bring on the Empty Horses, both very funny and well-written stories about the golden age of Hollywood. Some of those old-time stars made Britney and Paris look a bit cheesy.

I have many leather bound books...
...And my apartment smells of rich mahogany.. :p

I'm not a big fan of the Dan Brown books, It annoys me when a book doesn't know where it is in the story "bla bla bla...oh yeah and then this happened...I forogt to mention that when it was relevent"

...But even I have to admitt Angels and Demons was pretty good.
