It sounds pretty unlikely that the opposing team would be ballsy and suicidal enough to steal their opponents marker. I think it's more likely that some drunk high and retarded player stole it from under the netting. Maybe he didn't have a team jersey on at the time so decided he was going to get away with it.

Last tourney in Belgium we were playing 5man and we were six players which meant that every game somebody had to stay on the sidelines. Well on one of the games I was watching and arrived late at the game cause I had to attend to urgent matters in the boys room (ie: bombing it). I arrive at the field without my jersey and I see our extra gun resting on the netting so I picked it up. When the game was finished I went over to the next field to see the game cause there were some good teams playing and I didn't wait for my team to leave the field. What I'm trying to say is that nobody said anything. People are so into the games they're not even paying attention to whats happening on the sidelines. I could hav e been anybody but noone said a word when I walked off with the marker.
Unfortunatley your right :(

But in this guys case no one from his team seems to have picked it up. :(

It was not stolen by a specator. The dead boxes on that field are unreachable from the side lines, as the netting sits up against the fence, and the fence is solid.

If...the guys from Just Red had not told anybody about the theft, (except the police) i think there would be a very good chance that this gun would turn up on the UK tourney scene somewhere, however now that the theif and any potential buyer is aware of the fact that the gun is activly being sought after, it will probably be broken down for scrap :(

It sucks that players steal each other's markers, but it does happen. Guess you can not trust anyone!

The upshot of this and the other incidents is why?

You steal someone elses marker when are you ever going to get to use it without having to ask some awkward questions?

I just cant get my head round this mentality!!

If you steal a marker from someone who you're likely to see again, then yes it is dumb. However if the person was from Norway, then it's a lot less risky to use the gun.

I believe this was a crime of opportunity rather than a planed out theft.
I advise everybody to make sure that they have an insurance policy that covers the full value of their markers. And lock your kit bags, and take very good care of your guns. YOu wouldn't leave £1000 in cash laying about unattended, so why leave your gun for someone to theif?

In this circumstance only a handfull of people could have stolen the gun, it is really bad luck that this happened.

hmm.. I thank you all for getting involved in this matter. Im the schmuck who thought that it would be safe to leave the gun OUTSIDE the opposite deadbox. Untill this happened i have never lost any gear at any event in my 8 year career.
To answer whoever might think that this is a insurance-sceam... ITS NOT! Secondly i agree that it might have been smarter to shut it up and hope to meet this s***head again sometime, but in the heat of the moment, and all that..
These thefts are going to happend from time to time, but i still beleive in the code of honor amongst players and i can only envy the guy who stole it.. he has the best looking, shooting and pimped up gun out there today..

Thanx for looking out for it, fellas.. means a lot!
