Just get out there and use it. Thats the best way! Mine was fine straight from the box, no breaking in required.
Dryfiring to me is just one of those things I hate. No idea if it damages the gun, but I do know its painful on the old ears If you can help it, only dryfire when you really have to.

For Millennium
Fire Mode - PSP
Ramp start - 8
Rate of fire - 11.5bps (may need to be on less to be safe)
Dwell and BIP does not matter everyone is different. Try these settings, and adjust to your gun.
Dwell 35 (+7)
BIP 6 (+5)
