lube

I shoot a timmy and use shocker lube a small amount goes along long way. Also 2 guys on our team fire an e-blade cocker and a impulse they use vasaline and they had no problems.
I hope that is some use to you,if your going through **** loads of lube then use less,a fine coating is all thats required.
all the best .....

You can use what ever you want as long as there are no chemicals or anything in them that will eat away the o-rings, As with all Lubes and the cost of them its how long it will last before you need to re-lube everything some lubes/greases will have a longer life as it were then others,

Just like a car engine one type of oil will need changing more then another, As le-pig said go with what the manufacture recomends and you cant go wrong, but thats not to say other lubes wont work or will damage anything.

So pop down to halfords and see if they have any lubes / grease down there as long as it is o-ring friendly you'll be fine.

Ok thanks, that's very helpful - I'm less scared of using "other" lubes now - just one more questions though, which chemicals will rot o-rings? I assume anything solvent based, but haven't come across any lubes that have solvents in them! :D

What should I look out for?

I couldnt tell you what the chemicals were that will harm the o-rings, but as you said i haven't come across any lubes that have those chemicals in, but i would stay away from oil based lubes,

It should say on the tin/tube what you can and cant use it for anyway, just pop in and have a look at the labels but the worst that can happen is you'll have to buy some new o-rings, but i doubt that will hapen anyway

Again manufactures usually only recomed the things they say no matter what you buy from PC components to Cars, Markers absoloutly everything, its more to cover themselves then anything else anyway,

Its just they can say "well you didnt use the one we recomend" but there is nothing to say that the same problem wouldnt have happend if you did use the one they recomend.

Beware - if you use the wrong stuff (vaseline or oil  ) You might end up with a full-auto... Seen it with a Shocker that didn't get the treat it deserved... :p

I bought a large tube of Dove Corning 33 2-3 years ago and its not even half empty - It really didn't cost me that much!!
