Surely if there is no eye its hard to be confident that it wont chop at high speed. Ok you can use force-feed loaders but that kinda limits consumer choice....
Or was it only the proto that had no eye?

Don't forget its an impulse eye so even with the eye there's still a chance of chopping lol..... ;) :D :D :D
My point was really about the bolt pressure, I'd be supprised if it'd chop a paintball but then I guess that depends how fragile the paint is.
Vision is still an upgrade as far as I know.
If people limit their ROF to the hopper they actually use though they shouldn't have a problem. Wish they'd use a break beam system though....

Paul.

I'm pretty sure only the prototype shockers came without an eye, and that it was always the intention for it to be vision.

I don't really understand what the big deal about the Impulse eye is - I have both an Impy and a Shocker, and if anything, the problem I have with the Impy eye (tho curiously not the Shocker one) is that it gets dirty easily, and when it doesn't see the ball, it doesn't let me fire.

Annoying as this is, it doesn't equate to a chop. In fact, the only time my Impy has chopped is when I've lent it to LJ and he turned the eye off... lol :D

I'm happy to acknowledge the fact that break-beam eyes might be better, but there are also several thousand impy-owners who would refute the claims that the sp eye is chop-city... ;)

I can only speak from my experiance with them, by experience was bad, I had alot more luck the WDP's Sensi, at least on my speed!
The other problem I had with the SP eye is that it was prone to breaking from the ribbon.

Yeah, well I guess there are always bad batches. My eye kept coming off too, and proficient as I am at soldering, I couldn't get that damn thing to stay on. In the end I had to get a new one, and that has been fine ever since.

At least with the Shocker it's all neatly tucked away inside so no way a hit can dislodge it. I hope. :D

The issue with things like sensi, cops and vision is that they work really well when they are in perfect working order/condition. Break beams are not really affected by much, in my experience, and will shoot as fast as you can feed it...
Certainly, adding an ace beam to an angel is the best mod anyone can ever do for the gun. The way paintball is played now, you cant really afford to shoot slower than the opposition or chop at any point. Why anyone who shoots fast would wanna play without a reliable anti-chop system i dunno..

The was ones supposedly work through paint.. begs the question on why you'd have paint on the eyes though. so far I've NEVER had any probs with my break beam eyes though.
