I dont know... its almost like WDP are sticking to the 3-tube design purely as that is their trademark. There is no more reason for the three-tube design is there?

It's a private label Speed 06. Ken Crane (Angel Tech) posted this info on AOG...

"ok unfortunatly this hasnt been formaly introduced. ill try as best as i can. "THE GAT BY FIRSTCALLPAINTBALL"

this is the www.firstcallpaintball.com private label speed 06.
it is a speed o6 with a matching color dye ultralite barrel, checkit unimount and clamping feed neck. it has a real nice custom milling pattern. it will be selling aprox 100-150 more than the stock 06 but it has some real nice added value with the additional parts added."

WDP have always produced 2 marker models per year, originally they had a standard version of the gun then the fly version with a different milling pattern. They now produce 2 different markers a year with the main platform gun and a speed, we have seen the G7, the G7 fly and the speed 06 this year.

Admittedly there are private label and team guns such as the Joy, the Arsenal and this new private label, but how is that different than the Ego which has the XSV, Nexus and Mantis versions? Or DYE with the DM5 DMC and Proto's variants?

At least with WDP's platforms there seems to be technological improvement from marker to marker (even if only a little sometimes). Just look at all the different Timmy's you can get more or less the same with a different milling pattern/annodising and nobody moans about them.

Just seems that in these troubled times we are all content to brow beat one of the UK's leading paintball companies..strange

i dont have anything against WDP just seems they dont do much different with the milling or anthing. The speeds and G7, to me, are pretty boringly milled

partially agree about the EGO. there are 4 variants however each are differnt spec and so represent different purchases and all have unique and highly contrasting milling/colours

to liken it just to eclipse for the sake of time, itd be like
ego (g7),
ego+ (fly),
ego- (speed)
and about 3+ private label egos (joy, arsenal, firstcall)

dunno why there is a WDP stigma...perhaps people arent really seeing anything drastic happening these days. at least with an ego its a brand new gun. its not like DC3, DC4 etc

i dunno
ignore me :p

Perhaps the EGO thing was perhaps the wrong example to give, maybe more along the lines of the DYE model, where they have 2 base (and now 3 with the DMC) guns and private labels.

To me the more the merrier gives the consumer (us) more choice, gone are the days of everyone having 1 of 4 different markers and a choice of 5 colours everyone can pretty much find a gun now that they are happy with both with it's function and it's form.
