Well I agree 10M may be a bit excessive but I can't be arsed fannying around with 1M solutions so ill just try dipping it in Fishers finest

Immersion for a set period of time I would imagine, I remember reading the finish you want depends on the time in contact.

i would not dip!

Unless you fancy a larger bore barrel!

I sort of claim a little chemistry knowledge - the anodizing is a coloured increase in the aluminium oxide layer on the barrel and if you dip and fill with NaOH it i expect you to remove the honed oxide from inside the and some of the surface - knackering the barrel!

I have not tried the dip process, but I wouldnt try to do it that way.... spray, leave and wipe with Mr Musule would be better.

but when you strip anodising properly (so the way sloth and all those people do it) it removes a small portion of the aluminium anyway as the Ano gets embed into the metal and then + a few microns or so iirc

Dip process mate for the first one after that who knows, ill get a few bits together and do 1 dipped and one wiped after I find the right conc

i know its not the most of godly markers but when i had my ion a set of us stripped them with paint stripper, but the best supposedly is air craft paint stripper, needs no scrubbing or any thing, just bubbles off. ended up looking like this
