Hmmmm,
Despite loving me Nexus e-blade to bits, I too cannot assign mythical abilities to it. yep it was the lightest gat I've ever used, thus making it a piece of piss to shoost off hand. It was accurate, it was fast, it was efficient, it was consistent and it looked the absolute nutz. In fact the only 2 things I could fault about it were Battery life and wrestling it back off everybody else who wanted to play with it
Now I've also owned Angels as well. The most recent being an Ir3 Fly. Now when purchased in 2002, they was nowt as bling or fashionable than a Champagne Fly Ir3, and I was sold on the looks of the thing. Now the one I owned may not have been representative of the others, but only after it had spent a long time with LPS, and a lot of Warped Upgrades would it truly sing, but for me then to be visited by the trigger bounce fairies. Yep it was wicked quick with the "ooooohhhhhhh baby messages", but the consistency left something to be desired.
If I had to compare the two, the Angel was an accuracy by volume marker for the proletariat, the Nexus a handcrafted betokener for the aristocracy. In Fact one should attach an air of kudos to being betokened by a Nexus
Yep all the Angels I've shot have been machine guns, they mo, but in every category I can think of to compare it to the Nexus, if the cocker was a 10 the Angel was a 9 (except for rof where I'd put them on a par).
Maybe it's an unfair comparison, as the Nexus retails for like a monkey more than an A4, but I was comparing it too a maxed Ir3. If you was to compare a standard or team e-blade to a Angel, maybe they come out the same.
OK, here is where I sound like a crack addict. Despite my love of the Nexus, there is one marker that will always hold a special place in my heart. It weighs twice as much as the Nexus. Looks well, to be desired, requires about a gazillion pounds worth of upgrades to make it rock (easily costs several hundred quid more than a Nexus when fully tricked), and comes from a company you all love to hate..........The Vision Impulse. Now these old girls are getting a bit long in the tooth these days, but get a tricked one and it's a straight up canning machine. Ask any of the Monkey Love boyz about me old girl and they will entertain you with tails of unparalled consistency (+ / - 4 FPS without seeing an Allen Key for weeks), awesome accuracy (in the hands of somebody else), and a rof that had their bank managers weeping when it came to splitting the paintball at the end of a tourney. At a MM I downloaded 11 pots and a Halo in a 5m game, meaning that for the duration of the game I shot at a rate of 5.8 bps, OK so it was nearly 900 balls a kill, but with a ROF like that whose complaining!!!! Brought a tear to my eye, when it eventually got retired. It will always be my number 1.
The problem when determining what gats are the best, always comes down to fashion. Mythical abilities are always assigned to the current en vogue gat. In 2002, it was ray gun styled Angels. 2003 and 2004 and the fashion is now function over form, and the style conscious out there would never be seen in last years Jimmy Choos would they.
