So,

I've got an old school angel LCD here, weighs a fair bit, means little too me.

I'm thinking about milling/dremeling it too weight less, primarily by milling off excess metal off the body obviously.

It has a three tube body design, I know that the top is the breech, left is a battery and right is an air reservoir. I am hoping to fit a DM4/5/ frame on there, will the DM Frame be powerful enough to trip the solenoid? Besides drilling and tapping screw holes, will I require any further modification? If I can use the DM frame, it could run off a 9v battery, eliminating the need for left tube as it will no longer be powered off the rechargeable battery, I could therefore mill this part off to make it lightweight furthermore.

Also, is the LCD is high pressure, how much can I mill off the body before it becomes dangerously thin? I would like a lighter backup but it would be preferable if it didn't explode when I dive =)

Also, I know I have no avvy or sig and few posts, but I am not a 'nub' or anything of the sort, I have been playing competitively for seven years now and have an extensive knowledge of markers and how they work.

Thanks in advance,
Crackhead.

I would have thought if you can get the DM frame on there and run it off a 9v battery that you'll save a fair bit of weight when you ditch the std angel battery. I doubt you'd save much more weight through milling down the body as there would be only a finite amount of metal you could take off before affecting the structural integrity.

Not sure what the weight difference would be betwen an angel frame and DM one.

But as Bob says, Tom Allen is your man for this.

Thanks for that useful comment, but I already have three fully working tournament markers and just want to play around with this one.
