I know, I know I shouldn't be stirring this pot of... well you-know-what any more but I can't help it.
First of all, I apologize for my hand in this whole blemish on the usually smacktalk-free P8Talk boards. See, I was the one who discovered this thread and told my team about it, though I had no idea what kind of reaction it would provoke. I will admit, Baca Loco and Troy, that those words, when I read them, really truly hurt my feelings as an aspiring paintballer who just happens to be in college at the right time, and has an opportunity to help in a small way to bring this sport to an entire new level, who is going to work his ass off and try to represent his school and the sport of paintball in such a revolutionary event. However, instead of getting support from our fellow paintballers, our skill level is criticized, and we're told that we're not good enough to promote the sport we love. Yeah, so we're not the greatest paintball players in the world, but at the same time, I believe that we could represent this sport as well as any other team out there, just as well as Troy's team, or any other team, Pro, Amateur, Novice or Rookie. We just happened to have gotten the opportunity, is all... let's hope we make the best of it, for us and for paintball.
At the same time, I must apologize for some of my fellow teammates' replies, because as we all know, two wrongs don't make a right (and a max is indeed, a flag pull, a hang, and the elimination of all opposing players, regardless of how many players are left on your own team), and although it's probably way too late, I hope that you'll maybe excuse this less-than-friendly first impression of our team, our club, and our school. It's just that hearing things like that will make our emotions go off, and I think that passion like that is part of what greatness is all about, even though in this particular instance it manifested itself in a less than constructive manner. I wouldn't want to go to X-Ball with any other group of players in the world.
Baca Loco, I don't know what ESPN, Procaps, or the NPPL know, or when they knew it. I knew about the screwed up schedule, and I myself was wondering why it was the way it was until last week, which is when we got the email from the NCPA, inviting us to play. Like it said on the press release, we were one of the, "12 lucky teams who answered the call," and we're going to take advantage of this opportunity to show paintball to the world and help spearhead the growth of X-Ball and paintball in general. All we ask is for your support. Thanks for listening to my ranting and rambling.
