Okay, the DMA's have come and gone, and I just want to see a few people mentioned that deserve to be mentioned.

Big up as usual to the marshalling teams, you guys slaved all weekend, had your butts shot off, just so we got to frolic and play.
Respect for the people who organised the whole thing, Steve, Rob, Hanneke and Marco. Nice one.
A big whopping middle finger to the weather gods.
A big 'whuuuuuut!' to K2 for making me p*ss my pants with laughter on sunday.
Peace out to Mr Big for being a generally nice guy, it was good seeing you. Luvved the purple helmet! :D
Shoutouts to Robbo, it was cool to finally meet and talk some BS. Sorry about the old folks home you ended up in, and I thought your story about the 'rabbit boiler' was spot on... :D Oh, and thanks for giving me that copy of PGI weeks before I usually get it.
Very little thanks to the guy that ran off with said copy of PGI.
Thanks to TJ for talking sh*t about Robbo over the phone :D
To all the people I finally got to meet for the first time, it was good to meet you all, and nice to be able to put faces to names.

I deny everything

Good speaking to you Holy Master...I might fly over for Campaign to buy you a beer or two.

Mr Big is currently finalizing his report - I understand that he left tha site and flew straight back to tha UK, which is why tha report is delayed, but it's coming.

peace

DMA - a nice one ?!?

I dont really see, why the DMA was a nice tournament...

Okay, the computer crashed without a backup of the schedule, the weather was evil - **** happens. But the new schedule (thank god (and him/her) somebody did one!) was a desaster..

We had 2 games on friday and 8 on saturday. So far so bad, but 5 of the 8 games were inbetween 50 minutes. How do you play 5 games in about 50 mins? And how does it work to have two games at the same time on different fields?

Hmm ...

Anyway..

...everyone knew days ago, that the weather was getting damn bad. You just had to have a look at wetter.com (or any other weather site).
To built up unstable and crashing towers, which (DID NOT!) hold the nettings is far too dangerous. I dont know if anyone got injured, but its only a mater of luck if nothing happend.

Paying a starting fee of at least 700€ to get the chance of being killed by a falling iron-tower is not what I expect .. not really.

Respect to the marshals on the JT field (whoever they were). They did a pretty good job - as far as Ive seen. The contrary was the angel field. Getting MS marshal points for watching the sky is not what I expect as a customer ..

Ah! Theres still one issue which comes in my mind.
You were not allowed to carry your own food and drinks to the site (okay, nobody cared about it) but in my humble opinion the fact that you were not allowed is a pretty shame...

I believe you can make a lot of money if youre selling (fast) food and drinks for reasonable prices. But the eg sandwiches had been to expensive for their size and quality - so nobody bought them ....

Would have been one HELLUVA law suit and some mega bad publicity if one of those towers had landed on somebody!!

I understand your points, but I had one hell of a coolass weekend, and I feel the people mentioned are at least partly responsible for that, so I wanted to thank them.
As for your points, if you feel the whole thing was so bad, why did you stay? Why did you stick around to play all 10 games? Surely if you feel that both the services offered, and the safety were so bad, you should have packed up, gone home, and demanded a refund! What you are doing now is eating the entire Big Mac, and then go back to the counter to complain about the taste. If you don't like your meal, don't eat it.
Just my opinion.

Big up the DMAz

The tourney had the potential to be the best ever, almost, the elements that made the tourney bad were not to be helped by the organisers. Computers crashing, that **** happens all the time and can't be remedied. The weather was one of the bigest factors and I don't know one person that can really do anything about that. The overall set-up was pretty damn awesome. No air queues, plenty of room for players, food, drinks, accessible trade stands, quality field layouts...etc..etc...it was all cool and players/teams attitudes, considering the heavy downers that the weather added, were all generally real cool. Great set-up, great venue, great attitude, great fields all let down by bull**** mother nature inc.

Shout out to all teams and dudes we met:

Buddha Bandits-you guys are just too damn cool, cheers for the tourist guide malarky and to your boys for messing our eads up, in a good way of course. Window shopping is real nice. Shame we couldn't have that killer night out, due to our bull**** situation an' all. WHUUUUUUUUUUT!! We'll see you guys again soon as.

Dave Garrisson (?)-Father of Trauma, you were without doubt one of the coolest guys we ever met, cheers for the advice and training tips dude and for buying Latham a well deserved beer after our GZ game. Ok he don't don't drink but he was rumoured to have liked the two sips of the booze. Later dude.

Les-our ONLY coach driver, shoulda been two of the dudes but hey, the dude did well getting us there and back in one piece. A little late but we still got there.

To all the ladies in the Old Folks Home we stayed at (serioulsy) thanks for being our friends and not dying on us.

To the boys, The Machine™, for trying our damdest to play well even though everything you could possibly think of went against us, we will be back....esp Latham for destroying GZ.

How High? ;)
