 Ollie Lang playing in DIV1 is probably the equivalent to Wayne Rooney playing in an under 13's kiddie football team

its like the poor teams are getting punished for being poor and the Rich are kicking us whilst we are down

This need sorting
An under 13's Kiddie Match!!! thats the best place for the TW@ after yesterday!!! at least the reff could understand his tantrums.

I think the problem isn't just the U.S. pro players its with teams getting in any player which shouldn't be in that div.

last year in div 3 we played a team with 2 pro players in it also another team had a player from dynasty and the list goes on.

I have no real experience with the MS but it seems its they say one thing and another happens.
^^This seems a little more logical.

People guest on other teams in the American leagues as well. No one complains over here. Many players play on a team in the NXL but their NXL team doesn't play in the NPPL so they find another team to play on. Like many people, we just want to play as much paintball as possible. I don't see what the big deal is.

The big deal is, that when you are not a permanent feature of that team, and help them qualify for a division that is about to get locked or limited, that team will push out a team who's merits are actually better (if you had not guested for 1-2 events).

You don't see players guesting in any significant sport - and the reason is that it is inherintly unfair - so I don't really see why we should allow it in paintball.

When players are in it for the long haul, like Oliver and Pete on the Bullets, where they are now playing their second consecutive season, I have no problem with it, as they are then not guesting, but playing two different leagues, for two different teams, which is fine.

Due to the locked rosters and limited space, isn't irrelevent? Teams and players are making a year long commitment to each other. It's up to the teams discrection how they use their roster space. Prior to locking the rosters, the debate seemed some-what reasonable....after that San Diego Nexus/Russian thingy (which I don't care about.. because teams should be able to do whatever the heck they want)... Nonetheless, because the league limits the amount of players, the CPL teams take a gamble when they decide to bring over American players. A more fair analogy would be in the NXL.....certain teams have funding and sponsorship to fly players in from all over the U.S. and the rest of the world, whereas others must look within a local talent pool. Should the more heavily sponsored teams be punished and not allowed to utilize their resources? Its not the exact same, but is a mere microcosm of what this debate is all about, which is the use of available funding and resources......Because any team that has the money will utilize it....and anyone who says they wouldn't.....well......liars never prosper. Lastly, since other "pro" sports were discussed.......If Americans are not allowed to play in the CPL then I protest for no more Euros in the NBA....they are just too good of shooters and well-rounded players....No more Euros in the NHL....bar none...they are too good....No more NFL players in NFL Europe....always making too many good plays....... Also, Ricky Williams plays in Canada while having a commitment to the Miami Dolphins. Just some food for thought.....sorry, I was bored....

This is not about american players vs Euro players - so you are missing the point.

It's about hiring player from better teams for 1-2-3 events - with no intention of having them on the roster permanently... they are just there to save your ass temporarily.

That is not - and has never been - what a team sport is about.

Incidentally... has anyone seen the locked rosters on the MS homepage?

They are a joke :D:D:D

yepp, thats the hole point Nick, people miss the point, it's not about "hiring/buying" player for a hole season, it's about renting different players for each event to save their spot.
