Due to the locked rosters and limited space, isn't irrelevent? Teams and players are making a year long commitment to each other. It's up to the teams discrection how they use their roster space. Prior to locking the rosters, the debate seemed some-what reasonable....after that San Diego Nexus/Russian thingy (which I don't care about.. because teams should be able to do whatever the heck they want)... Nonetheless, because the league limits the amount of players, the CPL teams take a gamble when they decide to bring over American players. A more fair analogy would be in the NXL.....certain teams have funding and sponsorship to fly players in from all over the U.S. and the rest of the world, whereas others must look within a local talent pool. Should the more heavily sponsored teams be punished and not allowed to utilize their resources? Its not the exact same, but is a mere microcosm of what this debate is all about, which is the use of available funding and resources......Because any team that has the money will utilize it....and anyone who says they wouldn't.....well......liars never prosper. Lastly, since other "pro" sports were discussed.......If Americans are not allowed to play in the CPL then I protest for no more Euros in the NBA....they are just too good of shooters and well-rounded players....No more Euros in the NHL....bar none...they are too good....No more NFL players in NFL Europe....always making too many good plays....... Also, Ricky Williams plays in Canada while having a commitment to the Miami Dolphins. Just some food for thought.....sorry, I was bored....
