it boast's teams name ye sure and so what so does so and so has joined so and so. this team has done that this seems a little harsh are these boards not here to have your vioce heard?
The point I was trying to make is that it is one thing to announce something e.g. 'Wobley Wonderers would like to announce the signing of David Beckham to their roster' - All fine and good if that's what people want to annouce.

However, there has started to be a trend of 'Thanks to Sid Sack for the loan of your hopper Thursday night' - type threads. That is obviously an over exaggeration but I think you understand the point I was trying to make and the difference between the two??

Errm, I don't. But sometimes, as Ronniepimpstar noted the title can be misleading, many interesting headers appear but the contents is often simply one team thanking another for a training session. No problem with that of course but I was simply curious as to why they don't do it person to person? I couldn't understand the motivation for doing it publicly.

I was therefore just making an observation and 'spoke my brains' in the relevant section.

Well it's a personal opinion. For me no. I would rather someone sent me a personal email or give me a call. But, that doesn't mean everyone else feels the same...

Thanks, but........

A little thanks does go a long way, unfortunately there has been about 6 new Thank-you threads today (and all over the shop), which does seem a little OTT. It just clogs up the forum for the visitors who want genuine info, but may not be amongst the more vociferous of posters.

Not to mention that some of the Thank-You threads seem to be for a small minority to big up their mates, or business associates. I mean, I wouldn't be so crass to name names, but there exists an element who like to errr "suck each others plums" as it were. We'd sooner have that done in private thanks. Not too mention that sometimes the fellatio is errrrr premature in it's ejaculation.

A public thank you after a great tourney or an outstanding event all well and good, but as always you give an inch, and a very small minority can ruin it for the majority (of genuine thank-yous).
