Sorry to hear man, a few years ago i had about 9 thousand pounds worth of Scuba equipment stolen out of the back of the university van.

Luckily they stashed the bag which had my name on it and an old couple walking a dog found it then called me to collect it so keep your hopes up these miracles DO happen.

As some advise to everyone regardless of the sport always do three things with equipment:

1 - Have an up to date picture of everything, i snap a picture as i buy something of value, the more distinctive the better

2 - ALWAYS have your name on any bags or kit that is suitable to label including your phone number and address, this is what saved me

3 - Note down any serial numbers as you get the kit, if it goes for service the company will notify you after you tell them it was stolen

Good luck,

Steve

Keep a large bag of flour in your kit-bag at all times.
if it gets stolen and you have an inkling who took it you can just call the cops and say the guy nicked your bag, and then you saw him put over a kilo of cocaine in it and hang out at the local primary school for over an hour. You would approach him about the bag but you think he may be armed.

They hate showing up for robberies, but they love a bit of 'guns&drugs near a school' action...
