Hi,

Ive been paintballing quite a few times over the last few years so i thought its time to get me own mask cos i'm fed up of waering site masks which are skratched,smelly and fog up after a few mins.
i decided to go fro a jt proteus 2 (along with body armor,rhino gloves,neck protector).
it fits great but the only thing that bothers me is that chin can be exposed if i shout so i was wondering if there is some sort of piece you can add to it that could cover the chin a little bit more?

dayam,i just realised that the site gives you a black hood thing to go over your head and it drapes down to cover the neck and chin.

what are these hoods called and can you get them in funky colours etc etc

Learn to take the hits, after you have been mugged in the head a few times you kinda forget its meant to hurt.

Only things worth protecting are those closest to you eyes and nuts.

yeah

I slammed my teammate eight times in the side of the swede at practice, he said the first 7 were ok but the eighth stung a bit.

Props to him he didnt flinch ... or stop firing either.

ive been shot at close range by about 6 peeps which resulted in about 8 lumps to me dome (i was trying to be a rambo cos there was only me and 2 others left on the team).its not too bad at the time,its the next day when the bloody things hurt most....lol.
luckily i've never been shot in the conker sack so i reckons i ought to get a groin protector before my luck runs out!

got shot in the cods at the first big game and dropped like a sack of sh1t,marshel ran over called me clean as it bounced,got up and got shot straight in the nads again ,and no i didn't cry,but i was walking like john wane for the next hour

i have a neck protector by hangar 18 (i think thats what its called),is that the same thing as throat protector?

they are called ambush hoods.....wouldnt bother with em if i were you they just make your head sweat like mad and your gogs will steam up even more.

a neck protector is a good idea....getting tagged in neck kinda stings.
head protection wise you are better off with a baseball cap on backwards or a beenie hat....or have a look at www.hundrethmonkey.com their head gear is cool and good for front players who get shot in the noggin a lot.
gloves are a must.....nuff said
body armour i wouldnt worry about too....it dont hurt that much and if you have a hard target there is more chance the balls will burst....spend your money on a pair of knee pads instead, you will apreciate it a lot more.

gogs wise, jt proteus are good and will do the job well, dont worry about your chin....cant recall anyone i know getting hit on the chin....and trust me tournie players spend the whole game with their gob open!

nuts protection is a good plan! but i find a box a little to restictive for playing in, personally i wear a pair of dye slide shorts, nice and comfy with pads in all the places you land on then i take a small hand towel and roll it up and stuff it down the front of my playing pants to cover the family jewels....does the job perfectly, doesnt get in the way and takes the sting out of hits
