Alias Delrin Pistons - your comments

Ok - before anyone suggests I go to the existing Pbnation threads about these -

I'm more interested in a UK/Euro opinion on these items by:

- any one who is using them at the moment...
Beaker?
Manike? - directly or via your connections with Texas Storm who I understand maybe using them

- anyone who is actually thinking about buying them

Thanks

I am in America, so maybe I can't give the perspective you are seeking, but in my experience, they make for slightly more consistent velocity.

I am told they cause less wear on the aluminum in the reg housing, which makes a lot of sense (the delrin would wear before the aluminum), but I didn't have much wear to begin with.

Si,

I got mine, I got the 2 pistons and the bolt.

The bolt is very cool, I MUCh prefer having no orings, it fits snugly so can't really see the need for them, plus the detent grooves can actually do something rather than having Orings across them defeating any benefit.

As for the pistons, They seem well engineered, although the Oring on the Torp piston isn't as fat as I think the stock one is, yet the gap in which is sits is the wider one, odd.

I'll let you know performance after next weekend's training.

Ian,

Thanks for the update, I'll be interested to know how you get on with the bolt.

According to our american cousins, said item causes a noticeable difference to velocity and psi...which begs the question why the bolt in the Dark Timmy, which I think is a similar design works so well...something to ponder...?

Well, once I get me a chrono next weekend I'll let you know objectively what happened.

Can't fault the service either though, ordered online adn while i got no emails saying it was shipped etc you can check the site and it only took about a week end to end

Got mine a couple of weeks back, I'd like to say I've noticed a differance but I hadn't shot my alias with the stock pistons so I don't know lol, the reg recharge rates are noticably quicker though which in theory should lead to tighter consistancy at hi rof!
