Why does this make any difference? The reason why is that AKA don't just give them away to everyman and his dog.

People use AKA products because of the quality and performance of them. AKA are a small company in comparison to WDP or SP etc. They don't just mass produce thousands of them everyone that leaves the factory is hand built and tested.

I'd be happy to put a bet on that anyone who uses a WAS equipped Viking or Excalibur will be more than impressed by them. At the Phoenix cup I ended up with bout 5 or so people wanting one after dry firing it.. .. .

If you want bling and possibly problematic markers which need servicing every other tournaments DONT get a Viking . . . however if you want performance, reliability and efficiency get a Viking or Excalibur.

AKA don't really do mass advertising as they don't really need since word of mouth sells there products . .. . which live up to the hype as well. I'm not trying sell them at the end of the day I'm not arsed if you buy one or not and who gives a toss if a pro team uses them? A pro player will shoot whatever is given them.

Danny glad your enjoying the Viking! :D

I do believe Neil had ago of mine what is now Smartecosses'.

Before anyone says why did I sell my Viking. . . well I've got an Excalibur as well and I just love the closed bolt smooooothness.
So the Viking was starting gather dust and I decided to share the pleasure!!

ooh a bit late for this party.... :)

Ok Basically yeah whats already been said, out the box the Viking's are fantastic and so easy to shoot fast.
I've just picked up an Angel speed myself and as a result Alpha Paintball now also sells WDP products.
The Speed is a fast marker, the max BPS is 30 which means in 1 second there are 30 'windows of oppertunity' to fire the marker. The Viking trigger is checked 1 million times a second, if everything is in place to fire it will do, this has been tested up to 40 cycles per second, hense why it is so easy to fire fast!
Speeds are very easy on the eye whereas the Viking is more of a sleeper marker.
I think personaly AKA wins out in the QC front, this was beautifully illustrated to me when I recieved my speed.... the sensi came in pieces.:( But WDP Customer service is superb, they'll be sending me out a replacement part, special delivery :D
AKA don't sponsor Pro teams and has been said the pro's will shoot anything, look at Bad Company, would anyone here be seen dead with a spyder?? (all be it a very tricked one!!)

sleeper marker = a marker that doesnt look too great, nothing flash, but when ya fire it, baabang. then you realise dont judge a marker by its looks.
some ppl do this with cockers by fitting an eblade, but having the shroud over the electronic 3 way. gives some ppl a surprise.

vikings and excalibers are pretty much the same, same features really, just one is open bolt, the other is closed bolt.

viking is open bolt, excal closed bolt. have a look at the site in paul colliers sig. more info there

errr. this is probably completely wrong, but i'll have a go.

Basically these terms refer to the position of the markers bolt at rest position before firing.

In a closed bolt system, the bolt remains forward, sealing the breech (back of the barrel) until the paintgun is fired
Then it is opened, the new pellet drops in, and it is ready to fire again.
In an open bolt system, the bolt remains open until the time of firing, when it closes, chambering the paintball, then it opens again, for a new ball to fall into place.

(ok i cheated and copied that from warpig)
