What difference do air systems make to your markers performance other than the amount of air it will hold ?
Does it affect velocity or anything like that ?

Depending on the regulator being high or low output some markers prefer one or the other. However most modern markers dont mind whatever you put on

O right.
I have a Proto Matrix Rail,
and i am not sure exactly what the air system i use (as you can see i'm not very technical =P). I assume its a 3000 psi. (how can i tell from looking at my canister)

It wasn't that expensive. Would that have a detrimental affect on the performance of my marker ? Compared to say a 4500psi air system ?

Is it aluminum? if so its 3000psi

a carbon fiber wont affect gun performance it will make your setup lighter and just in general give it a better field, as well as being 4500 psi

The PMR isn't the most gas efficient marker out there, to get the most out of it a 4,500 psi 1.1 litre system would be best (this being the pressure you can fill the bottle to abd the empty volume) as for output pressure, IIRC the manual says 400-800 psi, so either a high or low pressure system would be fine. Some systems are a mid output like the Dye Throttle.

If you save money by buying a 3000 psi system it will probably be a false economy as the next thing you buy will be another air system. Even if you change the gun you can keep the air system.

Hope that helps.

Ok i have it with me now.
It is 3000psi , with a 800psi output, and its 0.74L, and 1.25kg.

I cant tell what material it is made out of.

Will this canister be any good for my marker or make it perform worse ?

onasliverbike, thanks for that. I was typing as you posted.

Aren't those air systems like £150. Thats a lot of money, and would take me months to save up, as i'm still at work and don;t have a job lol

its the regulator on the bottle that makes the difference one factor bon has explained another is that some cheaper regs are less consistent than better ones causing fluctuations in your velocity, most steel 3000psi bottles that i see have the lower performing of the pure energy regs and can be quite hit and miss. but this only causes small fluctuations in velocity say around +/- 10 feet per second on top of your guns normal fluctuation. the pmr is a solid gun and usually consistant if looked after, check your gun over the chrono and if your gun is +/- 8 fps set it up so the max fluctuation doesnt go over the site or tourney limit for chronograph. improve your kit as you improve your game and you will be ok.

Sorry as i said i'm not that techncial and i'm having trouble understanding.
So are you saying that my 3000psi 0.74L tank, won't make that much difference between a 4500psi 1.1L tank, if i increase the velocity on my marker slightly ?
