Are you sure that the gauge doesn't just read 1000 psi high?

I would take out the burst disc slowly, while aiming it (the burst disc) at a bucket of water. I might use Jello instead just because that might look cool. I don't think you should necessarily do that, because it would be somewhat risky and I don't want to be held accountable for your death or dismemberment.

Couldn't you just take an on/off ASA and turn it all the way on and see if you can vent it at all? Without having to worry about the whole death and dissmemberment thing?

Fine, spoil our fun with your good ideas! :D

In all seriousness, from the original post, mt understanding was that the pin valve wouldn't open.

I think his problem is that the pin is opening, but no air is coming out, even though the gauge is reading 1000 psi

sounds more like the guage is knackered to me........try filling the bottle using the guage off the fill rig to make sure you get a decent fill then see what the guage reads..if it still reads 1000 its dead, if it reads ok then just remember that it will not drop below 1000, or it might just read 1000 high.
simple really, if you feel the need change the guage but sounds like theres nothing wrong with the valve, i wouldnt mess with that unless a: you really have to and b: you know exactly what you are doing

gauge

im pretty sure the gauge is fine as it was reading 300 psi before i started shooting it, and i only fired like 600 rounds,

the gauge is fine, its just the pin valve, i think its cum loose from thge sdpring inside the rewg, all i need is 2 know how 2 SAFELY remove the air from the tank soi can fix it!!

To find out if there is air in the bottle, stick it on your marker and if it fires there is air, if not its the gauge.....you could also try and take the bottle off the reg, cause if its got any pressure in, you will not be able to unscrew it.

If you hurt yourself its your fault.......................
