I was wondering what the general level of air/CO2 use was with certain markers. What do you guys find, are spyders more efficient than cockers? do impy's rock but on a ton of gas?

I hear tell that the Matrix can be a bit gas hungry but how about say Bushies, Mags, cockers, shockers and the like?

Cheers as always folks,

there are a couple of markers that are notorious gas hogs, namely shockers and matrix although with a couple mods the matrix is sorted apparently
not really heard much about anything else, i suppose any marker can be made more gas efficent with barrel choice and making sure that the inline reg is sweet spotted

My impy can get about 1200 shots out of a 20oz CO2 bottle

old shockers can only get about half that.

and from what I have heard cockers are very efficent

impys can be very gas efficent with the right setups and pressures but htis takes a degree of loving yer marker that many imp owners wont do!

but i got roughly 6 tubes and a hopper with my impy equipped to ze fullest on a 45/4500 so i wouldnt say its a gas hog

Old Shockers are notorious for it - Mags aren't too efficient on gas either, although there have been posts on automags.org suggesting that work is being done to rectify that.

Gas efficiency

My Mag beats 1200 on a full 4.5 K 68 tank.

Shocker about 1100 on a full 4.5 k 91 tank

These figures are what I have shot and not to the point of the gun no longer working, but I don't think there was much left in either!!

2 Voodoo impies on our team, both seem to eat gas like a shocker!!!

shockers

i own a old shocker, and they are the most gas hungry marker i have ever seen. i have to fill my CO2 after every game (average 4 pots and a hopper)
but the shockers are consitant, i'll give them that much

yeah shockers are total gas hogs, you really need to run em on Co2 or 4500psi 1.5 ltr air, a smaller air system wont give you enuff shots. personally i can live with the bad effeciancy as everything else apart from the markers size is brill.
