A simple xboard revy will perform fine on an ir3 as long as your cops is working correctly, setup correctly and you have mem6 (cops2) software installed. eg MROF 20, BAS 9, SEN 8 = average 14bps, no chops.
Obviously if your fingers can go faster than that, you freaks, then you should lower SEN and BAS settings and get a force fed hopper.

Air assists don't work, not on the angel. They look cool, so that's always a good reason to get one, but they do jack.

The intellifeed my spin the paddles slower, but it spins them with every shot, so there's always a fresh stack ready to fire. So given the choice between that and a standard revvy, I'd take the intellifeed.

I have a HALO B on m IR3. It actually does have a problem with the HALO overforcing the balls into the breach. What happens, is because of the pressure on the stack, the ball rolls behind the cops rod, and an other ball partially loads into the breach. When you fire, the bolt pushes the ball behind the cops rod forward, shredding it, and sometimes also cutting the partially loaded ball in half, causes many breaks and not much fun. However, if you sand the cops rod down just a hair and oil the belt on the drivetrain of the HALO, this problem can be overtered. On the LCD's, it's not as much of a problem, because there's no cops rod and less room for the balls to roll back (or at least that's how it has seemed in my experience). For an IR3, you might be better off getting an eggII.

Actually intellifeed can be made to work both off of the Angel battery and the hopper batteries by simply following the instructions provided at www.g3pb.com. Air assist didn't work all that much on stock LCD's: LED 14 way valves exhausted enough air to where it was actually effective, and Adrenalin did work with their LED's and LCD's to enhance it tremendously to where it actually did make a significant difference. Any LCD other than the Adrenalin didn't have the exhaust ports open enough to where it would come into effect, as the LCD 14 way didn't use as much air to operate. The Ir3/LCD 3 solenoid uses even less, so it's even further from actual significance. With Warp feeds and now of course Halo B's and Evo II's it's almost totally out of the picture as these hoppers can keep up with just about any reasonable rate of fire without much significant skipping at all. But yes, before them air assist was not at all a bad idea.
