Thank god we aren't Turkey's eh?

:D

Merry Christmas all. Now to keep it relevant before it get's deleted and I am banned... again (already got it moved by the uber nazi secret force... ;) )

Why aren't there many indoor fields in the UK? There is only really one down at LPS as far as I am aware although I have heard of some up towards Manchester.

I want to be able to go after work during the week and play for a few hours, or when it's pissing it down to find somewhere nice and cosy to play.

We need more indoor fields in the UK, and we need them in the Midlands :) Birmingham would do... I heard rumours (actually I spoke to JR and Owen ) that they were looking to do it once, but nothing has materialised.

Now if someone one wants to build one within an hour I would be such a regular :D

So why don't we have more? Cost of premises or insurance I expect, but that can't be the only reason? Maybe lack of viable buildings?

When I win the lottery I am buying a warehouse to play in :)

And to bring in the USA crowd...

Are there many indoor fields in the USA? You definitely hear more about them.

Do they run during evenings etc? Can you just turn up and play a few games then go?

What's the best indoor field in the USA? Maybe a visit is in order...

What's the good and bad about USA indoor fields?

don't know about cosy

A couple of weeks ago I played at the LPS indoor, the games were awesome, but it did seem to be colder inside than it was outside. Never had frosty breath indoors before :D

I want a lottery win, yeah yeah I know don't we all. However if I won it I'd set me up a huge indoor paintball facility, 8 indoor 7 man fields, netted and be able to walk all the way round them. Fake grass (like at the jjb soccer dome) full changing facilities showers etc, a nice central set up area along with gallery viewing areas, shop and cafe ................

Well I can dream can't I???

Indoor fields

I believe the last leg of the SWPL was played at an indoor site near Bristol called Showtime or something.

Indeed, Showtime Indoor in Kingswood, Bristol is supposed to be pretty good. Theres also City paintball in Shepherds Bush, although that's more of a punter set-up and incredibly expensive.
I've no doubt manning will be along in a mo to brag about the three( 3!!!) indoor fields within few minutes of his home in Kansas City, damn his septic eyes:mad: :p ;)

Hey Manike! Merry Christmas to you too, or Chappy Chanakauh, whichever works.

AS to indoor in the states, there' a lot of it. CCP in Chicago was already mentioned, there's Paintball Daves in Milwaulkee (GREAT Place, BTW, ALL PGP!)There's one in a mall in Rockford (You haven't lived 'till you can walk two shops up to buy that battery for your dot site...), At least two in the St. Paul area, I think there's one up north in Fargo...

That's only the midwest too.

Next time you make the trip over to this side of the planet I'll drag you to CCP or Dave's.

I know of a few places in England that are indoor. Electrowerkz (Who REALLY pissed me off...) is in London proper, other than that, I"m not sure of the rest. Not my area.

But, you know, you guys have pretty OK weather year round (grey and overcast, but OK none the less...), what do oyu need a roof for? Oh, wait, rain. :)

To answer some of Manike's questions...

Yes, there are quite a few indoor fields in the US.

Most run evening hours all week. You usually pay based on how long you want to play and/or by session - e.g., an hour, two hours, the full evening session.

Best indoor field in the US? I haven't visited them all yet :p

Good - more time to play (nights), don't have to worry about the weather (cold, rain, etc), usually located in more urban areas so less travel, indoor bathrooms! :D

Bad - fields are smaller in size and number (compared to an outdoor location), surfaces are usually poor (everything from sand/dirt to carpet to astroturf) and get slick from paint, overcrowding
