Remember that the cone still has to do almost a full revolution before it hits its end stop and starts applying the full force of the motor on your balls. I haven't sed a Victory board yet, but It is probably normal to carry on spinning for a short while to retension the spring if it thinks the stack has run out.
Like Tom, I have been working on a slight modification of the Halo; this one should eliminate the need for eyes, sound activation or any of that pap. It's been on the back burner for a while due to other commitments, but I believe it should relieve a lot of headaches, especially with very brittle paint, and would work even with the feedneck full of soup.
