So the solution of e-mailing people about the events is ok?

All i know is that these so called mindless posts from my boys are getting a LOT of views and a LOT of replies.
If no one is intrested how come they are so well read?

I see your point, maybe some of it is pointless. But a lot of it is a useful tool for people to network, meet each other, Share expenses on travel/events etc. Maybe we should introduce a sober only rule to the forum. I know that most of the stuff i write that is useless is normally due to alcohol :)

I will tone down some of the crap, but feel the promotion of meetings should be done through the forum, to keep the open to ALL players, and to maybe inspire those that cant make it to do the same in their area. Hence with your permission i will carry on promoting our sport :)

OK first point, Dsylexia - You DO have to have a doctors/Psycologists report to officially state you have it. I know this because my Girlfriend just had to fork out £80 to have this done to get support through college. So robbo please dont jump on your high horse over a matter you know little about.

Second point, I never meant any of this to be at a personal level. i just see that as a team we are trying to bring the Pball community together, Want to promote to new teams that we are a nice bunch of people on and off the field. We try to do this through social events and open them up to Everyone. Maybe if these events were supported by other people on these boards then we could all live together happily.

Third point, Noobies????? Jesus i personally have been playing this game for 14 years. Then moved to Marshalling and finally found a strong and keen group of like minded players and formed the team Apocalypse. i love all that our team stand for. Its not about winning, its about enjoying. If that ever changed for 1 minuote i would leave. (Was wondering if u shave your head so it dont Chaffe when its up your A**e)

Fourth point, This whole subject is winding me up. Its resorting to childish behaviour and personally i dont want anything to do with that. I would just like to clarify if we can continue to promote the coallation of teams and the togetherness of our sport.
If not then i am saddened at the direction PGI takes, and will return to the "My gun dont work" posts with a down hearted attitude. There was me thinking it was all about the Promotion of the sport.

Fifth point, I am still damn sexy, I just dont give up easy :)
Isnt PGI based in colchester or chelmsford? Would u like us to come down and explain our vision to you all personally and friendly like? Maybe sometimes this doesnt come across right in posts and people get upset. But i am sure u guys would love our ideas if ya got to knoiw them :D

Sixth point, Hey pestybollocks, Lets beat up gurney, Its all his bloody fault. At least what we post makes sense :)
Famine, it's 4.10 am in the morning, I can't sleep and as time goes on with this thread, I am becoming increasingly disillusioned with some of your team's inability to read and subsequently understand all the points, that I and other moderators have explained.
Time and again, Pest, Dave, Mark and whoever have declined to acknowledge those points we make and just continue the attack picking up on some other spurious angle that generally end up in being an attack on me for the way I reacted.
Which for anybody reading the thread would realise, that the response from me was wholly caused by the continued and ignorant attacks by you lot.
People like TJ and Budha are not in my pocket, they make their own decisions regardless of what I have to say or think, they are their own men, both in intellect, opinion and standing in the game.
I couldn't influence their way of thinking no more than I could influence yours.
The rallying of the cause that you guys on Apocalypse have succumbed to is not borne out of anything other than team loyalty in the light of what seems an attack that is headed by me.
The moderators on the other hand have all banded behind the ideal of truth, common sense and the right to adjudicate what goes on, on their site.
Whereas the process of deciding what is right and appropriate has bought all the moderators under one banner, you guys have only loyalty to each other and the need to attack me to unite in your cause, not right or reason.
Loyalty I can understand, it would provide a sufficient and blinding enough reason for me to do many stupid things but there comes a point in time when sanity has to come knocking on the door lest we all really do end up in a place we would rather not be.

We both know Davec does not suffer from dyslexia, your point, banded around as though it was some 'coup d'etat' is unfounded as a doctor's declaration is not required to inform a prospective employer or Uni of one's condition, the onus, if chosen, is on the sufferer and this is accepted by any University you care to mention.
And I am in a position to comment with a fair degree of accuracy on things dyslexic, so please don’t tell me what I can and can’t do !!!
But this is not the point, the point is this, an end to this affair is required, I am fully aware that perhaps you guys did not want it to go down this road and perhaps explore areas best left alone.
To that end, I will offer and end to hostilities, we all know (or should do) the boundaries of what is acceptable and what is not with regard to posting.
For the moment, I will ban nobody as long as the attacks and abuse cease.
Now if you don't like the way this has been resolved, I can do no more but I would hope that we can all get along and that I can save a few blood vessels in my head from swelling and then going into burst mode, I can also save the petrol in my car needed to get to Cambridge and back and also to save my sanity.
And your reference to the word 'Noobies' was again misread and you should have seen it as 'Nobodies', now whilst you may not qualify for the former, you ................
As for me having my head up my ass ?
I'll let that go for the time being depending upon your response to this.
If you feel as though there is some good to be had in meeting up with us at PGI, you are more than welcome to make the call.
0208 304 3465 and I will do my best to make it happen !
Other than that, I am done, I am tired, irritable and not looking forward to what I might read tomorrow morning :(
But then again Famine, one of you lot may write something reasonable and conciliatory and in that case, it might be a better day tomorrow, we live in hope !!

I haven't taken the time to read this whole thread, becuz time is a precious possession that I have very little of lately... But what I wanna say is that I really don't care about the posts for pub gatherings and such, but as I have said before in past threads, most threads start off alright then turn into bazaar very random conversations... Now maybe this is a good thing, but it almost immediately turns me off from reading the thread. So my point is, the title of the post should be unimportant, it's the contents of the post... If a thread is meaningless and doesn't appeal to you, ignore it. Try not to make an empty post inspired by boredom :)

Hope I haven't pissed anyone off, but it's how I feel. Given ya some of "my brains." :D

Famine, Pestilence, Mark etc.

OK, here it is:

We ain't gonna say exactly what you can and can't post cos that would be treating you like kids - we have made it clear the sort of posts we don't want. As for this whole 'We will continue promoting the sport' moral high ground business, please gimme a break. The threads we want rid of go like this:

Post 1: Dude, i am sooo looking forward to practise tomorrow. Can Brian make it?

Post 2: Dunno - Brian, if you're reaading this, mail me.

Post 3: Yeh, and anyone else wanna come along then that's cool too.

Now if you think these posts are A - furthering pball and B - interesting to 98% of forum members then you are either misguided or you got an ego of Robo-esque proportions.

And as for the 'If this is what PGI stands for now...' bull****: do you think it's a coincedence that the person who started this thread has nothing to do with p8ntballer/PGI? He is a forum member who lasted four days as a moderator before snapping...doesn't this tell you something?

It should. What Buddha did was articulate what a lot of people feel. The problem is that posts like the one above are weeds strangling the life out of a garden...potential new members look in, say 'Wow, how cliquey, I ain't joining/posting' or 'wow, that's so dull' and go away. We want to grow the sport and the forum, in the opinion of ALL the moderators and ALL the staff at p8ntballer and PGI, these postings are hampering that growth.

You claim you are trying to grow the sport - fact is, you're strangling our forum and we will not allow that to happen.

I have answered you point for point every step of the way, while you have consistently ignored the content of 90% of my posts, eschewing logic for an emotional 'Well ban my arse' or 'I'm sticking up for my team' or 'I'm here to promote Paintball' (er, like we're not?).

So this is this: you KNOW the sort of threads we don't want. You also know, as Robo stated, that we will tolerate stuff in moderation. We will remove any threads we feel should not be here - as we have always done - and if people repeat offend they will be warned and, ultimately, banned.

No-one has a problem with Apocalypse; I'm sure you mean well, but if ANY group of people were strangling the forum, whether it's 6 rec guys from Guatemala or Ground Zero, we would take the same action.

You got a problem, email us or call tha numbers out of PGI - we're easy to reach.

But this argument stops here.

TJ, I agreed with you!

I see what your trying to do. And I agree with you, there is alot of utter pap posted on these forums. But when you've got the amount of friends on here that you have its gonna happen.

I'll try to be as constructive as possible in the future.

:)

TJ has called a halt to proceedings (that I respect, unless... ) but there remains one point not fully explained by myself, once this is done, my case speaks for itself.
The point made by Famine above is correct but it is NOT what I was talking about.
If a prospective undergrad wishes to submit to the Uni a report stating that he or her suffers from dyslexia ( to get assistance)then this report has to contain an official declaration from a Psyche or a Doctor.
I was not denying that in any way, my point was that if Davec had dyslexia he does not need an official declaration just to 'tell' them, he can do that all by himself.
now before I go any further with this, I want you to think of one thing, have you ever heard and I mean EVER, a person who actually suffers from dyslexia explaining his / her lack of spelling skills by telling everybody his father had to move away and therefore was moved to another school and this affecting the situation ?
No and nor has anybody else I know, if DaveC or in fact anybody else had dyslexia, the condition itself explains 100% the reason why their spelling is affected, DYSLEXIA REQUIRES NO MORE JUSTIFICATION THAN THE CONDITION ITSELF !!!

Now my threads are 100% consistent and explained.
I'm done !!!!

Case closed then.

Granted i was sticking up for my team, and kinda for dave too, dont even know him. But hate to see anyone attacked for any reason :)

I must say that a few of our teams posts have been a little off the point at times, and will ask all concerned to quit them :)

But in defense a lot of the Apocalypse threads are not started by our members, rather people trying to get hold of us.

Was thinking some more along the lines for solutions to these kinda threads, Its not just us that do it :)

Was wondering if we could ask one of our web tech pballers to set up a seperate forum, much like beaker has done. And then possibly get a link to it from here.

This would leave no excuse for people posting crap here, yet still make it accesible to those who want it.

Robbo, TJ, Bud and anyone else. I am sorry if this has wound you up as much as it has me. We are all trying for the same goal and should all work together, rather than against each other.

Maybe we should all meet up and Apocalypse buys the first round (with gurneys cash :) )

Besides, we could have a who has the biggest ego contest :D

All shall be resolved by the weekend

As my name has been brought up a few times, and my boyz have been bitched at, I think I better say my piece. I believe both sides have made good arguements, fair play we dont want ****e posted on the majority of this board. But a little point I would like to make ( this is not meant to wind you up Robbo), is TJ mentioned one of the reasons for not wanting this type of waffle posted, is that it would put new members off from joining, but how impressive would it look if a new member had read this whole thread and seen moderators getting wound up and making personal attacks on established member(eg most of my boyz). Anyhow, lets hope in the future these type of threads will not be needed, we all know and are aware of the boundarys :p

Peace and love to all ( well except for R.... ) :D
