Was just having a read.... and just thought. Distance isnt amazingly relevant depending on where your playing. Playing a tourney field, and Ion will quite easily hit the other side of the field no problem. Playing woodland... it will still travel a good distance. Since ive never fired an A5 i dont know what their distance is like.
All i can say about the tippmans is they are built to last. We use tippman 98's down at the site and they've been going for years. fantastic guns.

Balls fly straight down the barrel with nothing done to them just pure fps
But with a flatline this happens

That dint just above would be a rubber insertation or somthing alike which would make the ball spin backwards pushing air underneath it causing it to be propelled in a straight line for a longer distance
