timing was never really a big issue, it only takes a few minutes to get it done. when it comes to using an eblade now, it pretty much gets rid of the issues involving timing because most of the dunctions are controlled through the grip instead.
the race gun grip looked really great but anyone using an eblade including me will tell ya that it's a great upgrade, i haven't had any trouble with it so far. the options in the grip are really great, if you screw around with your settings and get lost, you can always set them back to 1 of 3 default settings opposed to others where you have to manually set everything back.
plus eclipse makes the frame, i trust them a lot more than the race gun creators.
back to the subject, price difference between speed and a4 are pretty big. the reason why the speed was made is because they wanted a more affordable marker that had all the great features of an angel without all the extra bells and whistles. i'd say get the speed, if you miss the additional features, you can always buy the upgrade board and convert the speed into something similar to the a4 for a little more $
