Well as subjects nothing to do with paintball are appearing again and nothing been done to curb it, here is a random post that actually does have paintball in it's subject ;)
This Forum is getting out of hand in some threads due in no small part to some peoples signature images...ok due to a board change some time back we don't have the option on the reply window to include or not include our signatures BUT you can edit them afterwards, so lots of replies withing one thread with a large signature makes the whole screen very colourful but a huge waste of space...my own signature images are sensible'ish but 85000kb and several times in one thread???? plus numerous others with equally large signature images that distort the board layout is just plain silly. I will only post my signature the once per page of a thread so it isn't a hardship for others to do it. So spare a thought for those poor people on dial-up...I ain't but it even slows me down.

How can you have a go at people with long sigs when you are using a sig yourself. Who decides what is the correct size. Maybe two pictures will become too much. I would understand if you had no sig at all

Notice the SOME.

He means people having huge sigs and putting them in the same thread every time they post.

plus numerous others with equally large signature images that distort the board layout is just plain silly.
So true, if it distorts the screen its already too big.

I will only post my signature the once per page of a thread so it isn't a hardship for others to do it.
Recommending others do has he does.

Simon, piss off ;) :D :D :p you knew what I meant...file size

Hankin, re-read the post mine own are not HUGE in size..so it doesn't clog the screen up, nor do I allow them to be seen on every single post I make just the one per page. If you go into the edit post section you will see an option to show signature or not....not so long ago that option was available when you first made a post and when you replied...it isn't now. I don't have anything against signatures if 20 people post and they all have differnt signatures that's fine...it wears a little if several members of the same team post as their signatures are similar but still "ok" it is the users that have signatures that go off the side of my screen (17" screen) and those that are animated gifs with several pages contained in them I dislike seeing. These are the ones that are slowing down my forum viewing and the 85000kb one is new in the last 2 days and makes things so slow it is not funny...I don't want to turn view sig images off but signatures like this will force me to and this will defeat the object of having a signature...it only takes a couple of these people to get signatures stopped altogether...it is a privilage not a right. I like that privilage and want it to continue.

You haven't been around as much as in the past but I want you to know, Mark, it's a real comfort that when you do drop by you always take the time to give a little dig. It's always appreciated.

As to the sig business I agree 100% and yet...here they are. I have begged, nay, pleaded for reasonable limitations and so far my cries have fallen on deaf ears. Thank God there's the option to turn sig's off altogether otherwise I'd have had to hop on a plane by this time and flown to Jolly Olde just so I could personally strangle Telfer--and a few others as long as I was in the neighborhood.

Download wise only putting your sig on a page once won't make a difference to load time either I wouldn't think... as once it has loaded the file once its in temp files, and don't pull it from the internet but your temp internet files :) ?
