Searching for the pro-tour....:S
First tourney

Only thing can add to this is before playing your first tourney get in a bit of practise with your team. Nothing heavy just get a bit of co-ordination.

This way you may still lose every game but at least you stand a chance of competing, and make them work for the win.

Playing is everything, fun is everything, but getting your A***s kicked in 30 seconds, every game, would really grind you down.

P.S. Tourney ball, the only F**king way to play! Biggest rush on the planet. Good luck! :D

Heeeelp me!

Just remember not to get too nervous during the game: You don't want to be mugged when you are huddled behind your bunker, whimpering and calling for mum.:D

And, as said before, it's important to have fun. If someone makes a mistake, hey, it's your first time. I hate to have to use them as an example, but Nexus, made up of some great players, had a nightmare. So don't sweat it.

The post about shaking hands before and after a match is so spot on. It's the difference between a team of nice blokes and a bunch of muppets, so just be sporting. Then when your cocker starts spitting air all over the place, one of the chaps who shook your hand will be more likely to help you.

Good luck.

I still get the butterflies when i hear 10 seconds. Its one of those best and worst feelings in the world. But as soon as you hear game on. It all disappears and you play hard and you play fair.

Agree with the hand shakes, Be friendly and nice and people will respect you and look forward to playing you again.

I have let my house be a Paintballers hostel as many have and this is why you always get a great atmosphere at a tourney.

As for on field tips (from a back players view)

Stay tight, Dont give the opposition any excuse to hit you.

Practice shooting from both hands so again you can play tight from either side.

Talk. Tell your team everything you see and hear. Let them know what is going on. You (at the back) have the best view of the field.

Movement. I learnt this as part of a scratch team with some excellent players and I used to stick to one bunker and let the front guys do all the work. But if you can move as often as possible. Try to do it so the opposition aint seen it. They still thik you are back left Coke can but you have moved to the centre back coke can. They move you might see more of them than you could before and they are a bigger target.

Realise that a field does have blind spots. just cause you think you are open you may be hidden from view from all the others.

Again Have fun. Don;t walk out onto the field going were going to lose (even if you are)

If you start positive you may even suprise your selves.

Enjoy tourneys they are great atmospheres and fun to play.
