A newbie to Tourneies

Hey guys,
I am new to tournements and I play on the team i started called "Freaks With Gunz." I was wondering if you guys had any info for a noob like me? And if it is get a good gun I already have a 2003 cocker with hinge trigger.

1. You already have a good gun so know how to use it - practice snapshooting, shooting offhand, staying tight in your bunker, how to fix common problems (especially on-field problems like bolt stick or a chopped ball)
2. Before the tournament, practice as a team - learn each players style (who's aggressive, who sits back, etc) and know what positions you're going to play
3. Work on your communication - create some basic codes for eliminations, movement, gun down and use them in practice
4. read PGI and the forums for drills, advice, etc.
5. (most important) HAVE FUN!

Don't expect to conquer the world in your first tournament. Try to learn something from each game. Talk to teams after you play them and see if they'll give you some pointers.

first tourney

I only played my first tourney in last Sept, i managed to cope with the help from my team and other players that were @ the event!
Every1 was really cool and you will really enjoy it!
Basically wot am sayin is if u have any questions, probs anythin just walk up to sum 1 and ask (but for F**k sake don't do it when their playin in a game)

If ur scared then that s gonna show on ur performance durin the game. obviosly right before game-on i was gettin really nervous but as soon as that marshall put his hand down and screamed 'GAME ON!' it all went away.
Don't worry bout gettin ur ass kicked, sum Pro teams still do, it's just the nature of paintball.
You will have heard this a million times but it's true, main thing is to enjoy urself and most importantly LEARN from EVERY GAME u play in

The first time you hear the marshall call "ten seconds", your stomach will probably drop like a rock. Mine did the first time

Once the game starts you'll be fine.

I never slept the night before,the first game lasted OH 2minutes but we came back and I would never dream of playing anything else. what a rush you get when you win your first game but be patiant it might take a little longer than you think but the main thing is have fun be friendly, ant the most important thing that I tell my team is after the game always shake the other teams hands. It will last a life time have a great time playing,play hard and always play fair. YOU NEVER WIN IF YOU CHEAT, you only cheat your own team all the best for the future.
