I think Buddha's point was that the guy came on pronto, flamed the company that made the gun, and then, when asked (politely) to 'put up', he decided to 'shut-up'.
Unfortunately, the 'shut-up' option isn't really available, because he already flamed the firm and made his play. At that point he should be able to defend his post (if indeed he has a case to make). He decided not to, and ran away.
I feel cheated somehow...
