A must read - PA rule change for the 2005 season

Russell Smith

The Paintball Association
Everyone has jumped on our suggestion without talking to each other and as such we now have three leagues each saying they will have 15bps cap on there tournaments, none are the same as each other! .
I am going to the states at the end of the month just to see if we can get everyone to stop pissing about with their freakin egos and to try and get them to all do the same thing with this rule.
As for the PA we will not change our current rule until we can put something you can all understand and use in it's place and we must also be able to police it..
We (paintballers) need all the organisers to at least talk to each other about major rule changes.
Until they do we will have to live with lots of definitions of what is really the same rule.

The PA will not introduce the cap for the first event and I promise we will give everyone due notice to adapt to the new rule.

I'm suprised that some of the top PA teams havent already turned around in protest ..

and to end my rant, its gonna make pb even more expensive to play the it already is!
And there was us all thinking the paintball bodies/people were always trying to get more people into paintball, make it more accessible - I don't think so.

I think the robot should come back out of the bin, be tuned up so it can detect cheating chips so that the cheating players in the game don't ruin it for all those that put their time, effort and hard-earned money into the sport they play and the kit they buy.

It's been said already but I'll repeat it; if someone has honed their trigger skill to 18bps (agreed that not many people can) - why punish them and then make a board available for those that could do 3bps previously to magically become 15bps ballers. Makes no sense and takes a fundamental technical skill out of the game.

Also on the topic of muggings, at the moment in tourneys, if someone's mugging someone over the top - how many players are guna stick around to put 15bps onto their opponent? - Most ballers know that if they are 100% sure they'll get em with a couple (just to make sure they don't get u back ;) ) .. but with this 'great new rule', overshooting and unecessary bonus balling will seem the way to go, even supported, as the boards will allow this with the same amount of pulls on the trigger. Surely 15bps to a players head could potentially be VERY dangerous ?!

mmm .. can't think of much more to say at the moment.

I'm sure I'm not the only player that feels this way ..

Agreed overshooting is dangerous but much, much easier to police than ramping boards - the NXL has no problem at all and they all run full auto's! I guess one thing that could be adopted to make it a little safer is like the NPPL have done and drop the velocity limit to 280fps.

If the field is even (everyone shooting 15bps) then the only difference between players is actual personal skill. Playing against people with ramping means you are not only pitting your personal skill against them but also against their ramping guns. Anything that actualy makes the playing field more even so personal skill can surface must be good.

Oh No

Russ Your going Stateside?!?!?

Please leave em alone?? Some teams are going Stateside now just to get away from some of these silly rules!!!

We're paying a hell of a lot of money to play tournament ball by the rules we love a.k.a- NPPL and up until last year the Millennium!! I loved the mill rules last year and, I, am seriously looking forward to playing the NPPL by the rules they have... So please... and I mean please... as you are a non player these days and seem to be having a whale of a time making up strange rules... Leave a corner of the globe alone man!!!! PLEASE!!!!

Yes this is a plea!!!

No I'm not on my computer anymore so will find it hard to respond to any more posts!!!
