Don't get the Dye Goggles they are useless. I know several people with them and they steam up. JT thermals are the best.
Get your parents to take you to Warped Sports in Wolverhampton, Phoenix Paintball in Cannock and Paintball Planet in Manchester. They will give you good advise, let you try afew markers and then you can make a decision.
Try and get to a tournament, talk to the players, see what they are using. There is one at Utoxetter on 28th July, thats not too far from you.

If you don't want to shell out too much on goggles, then the V-Force range are pretty good choice, a lot of sites sell them (because they use the standard model for punters) and Diablo Europe distribute them - website is http://www.vforcepaintball.com/vforce.php, and there's a contact number for the UK/Europe blokes there.

As a starter gun, I definately recommend a 98 custom. Tippmanns are renouned for outstnding reliability (I have litterally seen a 98 filled with sand, dumped out, had lube put in, and it still fired). It is a low maintenance marker, it can perform without any regular cleanings, although it is always best to dissasemble and clean a marker before and after each day of play.
For goggles, I reccomend the JT iNvander. Its cheap, about $30 us, sturdy, and offers more than adequate protection.

i was going 2 play in the Utoxetter tourney but im on holiday at the time! i would have been playing for a team called 'Team Rebel' so watch out for these guys if ur there! iv baught an automag from a guy who plays 4 the 'RPS Vipers' and im gona buy some JT Nforcers! thanks 4 all ur help neway!
Well it also depends on how much money u are iwlling tro spend and if it is a good amount go with the kingmon spyder or the piranha. Both very nice guns
