He should have told you the difference between dot and hse, and let you choose whether to buy it.

By not telling you about the problems inherent with a dot bottle, he is effectively conning you into buying a bottle that is no good for the job you required.

He's right about the dive tank fills, but as far as using it in our tournament scene by blagging your way through a fill, is bad news from any one who knows the score.

Name and shame i say.

Yep. Save his next victim.

You can use an AK-47 to kill school kids in the UK, but that doesn't mean it is legal. What he told you was misleading. Bad feedback is key to policing an online classified.

Got to agree......Name and shame, if he will not give you your money back!!

He was really "clever" by not admitting it was a DOT bottle, and you were a easy target.
You can use it in the U.K. Just have to fill it yourself from a dive tank. You can get the dive tank filled from H-PAC, so you can use it at U.K. tourneys, just a arse about to carry the dive tank to the event.
The tourney organiser also will not be happy, cause it might invalidate his insurance, so you should check this out before you try and play with it.

Tom Allen was doing something clever with DOT bottles, give him a shout. Might be able to help you out.

Under trading standards he is commiting an offence if you SPECIFICALLY asked the question as to whether it can be used in tournaments in the UK and he answered yes. But only if the tournament you wanted to play in don't allow DOT bottles due to insurance invalidation.

So if you asked about that specific tournament, they wont allow DOT bottles on site, and he said you could, then you would have a case to be able to take legal steps to get your money back. Go speak to citizens advice...

Oh, and name and shame too !

Seems like theres a bit of this going on around here.
I fell for the same trick, never actually specifically asked is it HSE, assumed as it was an angel air bottle, would be dual test.

the guy knows who he is, and I have no doubt he'll see this as hes a regular poster on here. but seeing as I have no grounds to claim the money back, I have let this slide.

shame this is happening, i've twice been stung by people, including my first ever buy off here. think some people have gotta buck up their ideas and treat people how they expect to be treated. and that includes even the regulars on here

Maybe about time people posted if they have had bad gear, or not had gear sent to them etc...

As said above. the only way to police forum sales like this is to expose poor sellers...
