3A tank. DOT situation

ok peeps,

i have recently purchased a 3a tank from a player of here, which i will not be told yet to you,

situation is, he said i have a tank u can use with ur gat, i said kool ok, so i can use it in the uk and with my gat.
he said"yes"

now i have recived the bottle and it has on it.

now i asked him about this and he is still sayin tht i can use it in the uk,

i also asked him about usin it at d'7 now, he said yes i can but have to be carefull abt how u fill it, and not to be 1st in line to fill point, "have ur wits abt u he said"

he aslo said" my mate used this tank last year, no 1 cheaked it so dnt wrry" i phoned h pac they said i can not use it,

i told him this he said yes becasue they used compressors, but i can fill it my self, from drive tank

thats not the point, lol he will not give me my doller back what shall i do?

i jst wnted a tank tht i can use leggaly in al aspects in the uk.

Check out the cost of getting it hydro'ed. If it is more than you want to pay, then tell him you want your money back. I am assuming that you thought you were buying a legal and safe tank from the guy. That could be viewed as some sort of fraud...

im not the smartest bloke so i dnt no all the in's and outs of air filling

i thought it was all legal and i was trsuting him to tell me it was DOT, not very freindly is it?

Sadly you can't test a DOT bottle to HSE/Pye standards. So if it is a DOT bottle it can only be retested (hydrod') as such. All to do with manufacturing tolerances or soething. Again H-Pac would be able to clarify.

I hope you paid very little for the bottle or you have been ripped. DOT bottles are worth next to zero over here due to the fact you can't use em (as you have found out).

Some people do use DOT bottles, but as previously said only if they fill from there own tanks. Even then I;m sure it is to the discretion of the site owner/tournament organiser to allow/disallow this.

OH, it is the US standard versus the UK standard. Maybe you could get someone coming over for a tournament here to sell it/ trade in the states?

As for £60 for a DOT bottle that is pulling your eyes out mate... you can pick up a good test length HSE/Pye for about £20-£30 more

I would say your within your rights to if you ain't got what you expected...

People know that DOT bottles are near enough a waste of time over here...

Some people sell them really cheap for that very reason, knowing they have little value in the UK. £60 though is like I say a bit of a liberty.

Was there no mention of what type of bottle it was before you bought it?

Sounds like a bit of a clever sales job if you ask me... if he didn't mention the test type, and you didn't ask what it was I don't know where you would stand.
