We pay a lot of money, they say, yes we need the extra money for fields, turf,
Netting, orga, Marchalls.

But now we can marschall!? wtf....but if you dont, the compatition will have always a win more/more points.

so you have to play top 5 every event to go to SPL....

my 2 cents

Teams selected by the Millennium Series will get
- Free hotel accommodation from Thursday to Saturday
- Free food and drinks on venue
- Up to 100 points (like a 1st place) for the Div1 series ranking
- These points count for seeding and promotion/relegation
- Up to 1000€ at the end of season as payment towards their license for 2009

But youre still paying for an event that youre not playing. What are the criterias for getting the full amount of 1000 euros back? "up to" doesnt sound too sweet in my ears.

The reffing teams get points, so basically you pay for 100 points? And we want to be taken seriously in the world of sports?

Im not sure what my opinion about this is, (except that those spots belong to the teams that were cut) but it sure does reak of something.

edit:
Maybe im beeing to pessimistic, you tell me :).

We are getting "up to" € 1000,- back in 2009 - but every event in 2008 cost a div. 1 team € 1250 (+VAT).... Logical !

Also - so in a locked division like this with only 32 (35!) teams we will in this season see no less than 20 of them getting a 1. place - 15 reffing and 5 that actually wins an event, that´s close to 2/3 of the teams !

Wow, that´s gonna be great for the ranking and relegation/promotion !

Of course it is expected that we receive a brand new "licence agreement" now (note: NOT a contract, no teams ever received that!) for 2008 as the number of teams in this division is no longer as stated in the first "agreement", but let´s see if that in fact happens hmmmmmm !

Well Freddie,

What do you think would happen if all the current Div One teams all asked for their payment to be returned because what they paid for as changed..
They would not be able to find others who are daft enough (no insult intended) to pay that much entry fee for what they get.

5 real wins 15 given away, we will all see the real winners though

But what on earth does that actually matter when the points in this locked division is just being degraded HUGELY, almost half the teams just gets them handed to them anyway?!

So WHAT If you did actually win an event - all that matters in a locked division is who gets relegated and who gets promoted.

I really wonder what the extra money the millennium series get this year is actually being used for ? It has been said and written that they do not wish to do any cashbacks in the future if an event proove itself to not be "up to standard" - we are not getting anything more this season - so why couldn´t that extra cash be used to bring in a FULL reffing squad instead of still just being half players/teams ?

im unsure if its already been mentioned but wouldnt you get biased calls if you favour 1 team over another because you get along with them or on the flip side have an on going rivalry. what kind of tournament class training would these 'refs' get also? would it be up to scratch for the premier paintball league in europe?
