Sorry am i missing something here. Congratualtions to jenson getting the title however does he really deserve it. Im glad he got it cos after all these years its about time he did something.

It appears to me as if after the first few races and other cars caught up with the pace he was contented to just sit back and gain a few points here and there. Ok today he put up a brilliant race and drove how he should throughout the season but if it wasnt for the shambolics at the start would he have taken it.

The bbc had a video with the headline along the lines of "Button, Master of the Universe". Really? If we had shoved him in the mclaren or the renault would he have been able to do as well as alonso or hamilton. Both of whom got everything out of their cars even at the start of the season when they were well off the pace. Kovalinen for example, same car as hamilton, different class of driver, is jenson really as talented as he is being made out to be.

I for one would have much preffered vettel or barrichello to have taken the title. Vettel had a storming season and well barrichello has just been sat in the shadow of schumacher, 11 race wins to his name and countless podiums. Admittedly Button deserved it more than barrichello but his mid season lull annoyed me.

rant over - Next year - alonso, hamilton and vettel all pounding it out for the title.

Jenson completely deserved the title. He led the championship from day 1 and while yes he had a mid season slump he kept the points rolling in and even more importantly only 1 non finish.

Vettel and Barrichello both had their moments during the season. Vettel and Hamliton showing themselves to be the qucikest guys out there at times. But none of then could take the fight every race weekend to Button. The fight came from many angles but he kept consistant and deserves everything he has worked for.

...but stick Jensen's ass in Hamilton's car and would he have won?
Only an imbecile would suggest he would; that being the case, only one sensible conclusion can be drawn ......

Would Jenson have won in Hamiltons car? No he wouldnt have. But would Hamilton have won last year had he been in the Honda? Also no he wouldnt have.

F1 has always been about doing the best job possible with the car provided and also beating your team mate. Button did the best job with what he had this year he beat his team mate in the same car over 16 races and he beat the opposition. Even when his car was bad he picked up a few points which is what has won him this title.

Equally Lewis got the most from his car this season as did the likes of Alonso which is why they are recognised as the top drivers in F1.

Next year watch out for Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Raikkonen and defending world champion Jenson Button :D
