It's good to hear that there were no problems other then a website getting the finals score wrong and putting RL in the wrong place... (now where have we seen that before ;) )

Pete, I'm thoroughly behind the players selected to represent England at the X-ball. Back when we were doing the fantasy team thing I had many similar selections. I've also thought a lot of good about the Rushers as being one of the leading UK teams so it's no suprise to me that they got this victory and that there are many in the X-ball team.

I've been trying to get out to watch the x-ball event at IAO but at the moment it looks unlikely due to huge work commitments :(

Will PGI be doing some special coverage on the X-ball and specificly the England team so those of us back at home can keep up with it all as it happens? That would be greatly appreciated.

Si, Ant is certainly taking out the ole Laptop, so we will be keeping people updated as to what is going on, if only by the bulletin board but I think Ant will most certainly be writing some sort of daily report up for the news section on P8ntballer.
As for the selections ?
Well, I gotta say, maybe Nick, Mark, Chrissie and Jack would have been in most people's minds but players like Bowen, Tom, Junior, Jamie and Wayne were revelations to me.
Sam, I knew could play but I have to say, I did not believe he could play at the level he has recently shown and that too is a revelation for me. A couple of them need to be tweaked in terms of confidence but that really is only a minor consideratoin at this point, ability wise, the team is phenomenal.
All in all, this team is the closest England has to World Class, we are 95% there, the trick is, to get that last 5% in place.
Whether it can be done during Pittsburgh is not my main concern because I know, in time, it is achievable with these players.
How many come along for the ride after Pitts, remains to be seen but the proposed next stop will be World Cup in October if all goes well within the team and corresponding negotiations with certain people in the industry then we will be there.
As always, only time will tell !!!

That sounds very interesting and exciting. I'll definitely be at the World Cup to watch the team.

Pete,

Does this mean that X-ball will be an ongoing thing, or does it mean that, irrespective of what X-ball will do in the future, this team will continue to exist? In case of the latter, will the guys on the team be leaving their current teams in order to form a new team, or will you get the players together only for high profile events? (World Cup being a good example)
Whatever the plans, I gotta say that I will laugh my ass off if a European team can go over to the Cup and beat some American ass!

why does everyone go on about angels. all i see from them is one problem after another. just because they have a high price tag does not mean they will perform. I reckon most of the reason for there selling is the fact that people who fire an angel are assumed to have talent.....very wrong. At the end of the day though its all about personal preference and if someone can put there hand up and honestly say they belive the angel is the best gun, then fair enough. all entitled to an opinion!
