Ok problem sorted and I was just being a noob.

Took a spanner to it, tightened it all the way in.

Turned everything on, the on/off now gives a little "Psst" as it turns the air on and shuts it off. Gun works fine and I am one very happy guy.

Thanks everyone for the speedy assisstance, off to do some snap shooting now... wahoo

Im gonna say this as you are obviously new to compressed air. NEVER EVER EVER NEVER EVER put any oil or lube or any grease near that elbow, your bottle or your air system. Unless you like crispy fried forearm/entire body.

Thats all I gotta say. Have fun! :)

The problem's sorted now, no need for sarcy comments.

Cheers Bolter was already aware of that.

Mad - cheers but if I had someone that could do everything for me that would be great, however, I'd never learn anything and I hate rushing around trying to sort things out quickly like I was doing last sunday. The thing is for guys that are REALLY new to this like me, there isn't an idiots guide or anything so you just have to get stuck in or be a pain in the arse on gamedays saying "can you help me with this this this this" and no-one really wants to sit and sort our stuff out when they've got other things on their mind. That being said there were some very helpful people on sunday at the AP day and some that just didn't want to know.

Anyway, it's all up and working now and I don't imagine I'll need to take it all apart again soon but I'll keep everyone's advice in mind, Thanks.

MODS- If you want to delete this now, or leave it here for anyone else then thats fine, can be locked now in any case.

Cheers

This thread should definately stay up.
The combined expertees on this forum can diagnose and solve any paintball equipment problem. As we did with your problem.

When it comes to high pressure air, expect to be given a hard time.

Its the kind of subject where learning as you go along isnt very clever at all.
Unless you want to die horribly.

Screw in air fittings are no more dangerous than putting macroline into an elbow.

A bit of PTFE is always a good idea because of the effect of air pressure on the way the threads lock together.

Elbows should be hand tightened as far as they will go and then given a turn or two with a spanner, if you need to tighten it more than that to stop it leaking you are doing something wrong.

You shouldn't need loctite on elbows, only for small screw in air fittings like grub screws and bayonets where PTFE is too fiddly or the threads are too short.

Mixing oil and ASA's depends entirely on the gun, would be hard to keep an autococker running without a few drops of oil in the ASA. Don't put oils on bottle valves.

ASA's, Elbows and macroline pretty much anyone can tackle. Gun regs and bottle valves are a different matter entirely. Messing with regs can destroy your gun, messing with bottle valves can ruin you whole day.
