Depends what you want to use it for. They'd both be great as paperweights or door stops. I think they're probably equally as bad for propelling paintballs.

To offer a helpful reply, both of these markers are somewhat inferior to other budget markers available to you.

They are both similar in terms of performance, reliability, etc and are at the lower end of what you can expect these days from budget markers.

You will be better off with an SLG, Ion, Etek or Rail - all of which you can pick up second hand on here if you look hard enough. Or go to any number of paintball retailers if you prefer to buy new.

You do need to be aware that you will want to run the above markers on compressed air, which is slightly more expensive to invest in initially than co2. BUT, co2 is more or less obselete now anyway.

To sum up, if you want to play any kind of paintball even slightly seriously then you would be better off looking around a bit more and remember that you get what you pay for. It is often better to pay just a little bit extra to save yourself hassle and the additional cost of having to upgrade again in the near future.

Ill stick with my ICON Z then, i dont find paintballing fun enough to want to spend much, if any money on it; i go maybe once a month sometimes every 2nd sunday if im lucky.

ICON Z to me is extremely accurate, strong, reliable and efficient, i have no idea why people seem to be judgemental over it. i played against all sorts of high-end markers etc.. and quite often i played better than them on the basis of kills and average playing time. it seems mostly that the only difference is rate of fire and thats seems pointless unless u want to burn cash :p

Thanks for your advice though guys its appreciated.

:D..sites markers are better than the Icon shed...
What you seem to be forgeting or not chosing to acknowledge is that as this is a "Paintball forum" and as such a few, perhaps many have tinkered with the likes of the Icrumb and finding that they lack any resemblance to a serious marker they end up bagged with kittens + rivers...
Take the advice as it's meant, honest,it appears you wanted people to tell you how good the Z was..

I personally wouldn't get an icon Z, they art that great honestly, you said you was going to get a diablo for £60, i would honestly get a spyder sonix.

some people may knock it when i say that but it was my first marker and worked all day everyday, if i dont get all electronic it would be my number 1 choice for a mechanical marker. :) hope this helped

I think perhaps the question should've been..
I have an Icon-z but am looking at a Diablo AR-1 would there be any benefit in changing?
The replies then would have been different.
The bit I don't understand is that you can't warrant spending much on paintball but you go perhaps every second sunday?that's prolly more than a few players on here..and you don't find it much fun:eek:what do you do when you enjoy something....

Precisely, if you're going every 2nd sunday, you may as well upgrade. Although don't push it so you cant' afford to go at all. :)
