Whats Been Happening This Past Year

Been out of the loop for a year spending my hard earned on nitro powered 1/8 buggies. Will continue with RC but feel the time is right to start playing ball again.

Whats been happening the past year? Any recession casualties in the retail side of things? I see the 2010 markers offer nothing new?

Looking forward to playing again.

I entered the sport, which has pretty much ruined the paintballing world and turned its stomach :D

I fixed that for you ;)

DS, nothing really new, markers are all pretty much the same with different colours on offer for 2010.
.50 cal released to mixed reviews. Markers look good, paint looks good, questions remain over performance. Once it hits the market they'll be answered.
Angel A1 Fly's still rock :D
Balls Out Promotions put on some great events, can't comment on other leagues but I hear the Masters is **** hot too.
Millennium was still ****e and expensive.
Live webcasts from American tournies keep everyone sane at the weekends when they are on.

jeff abbott has been the main form of entertainment for the masses, just search and see, I won't spoil the surprise.

Coolies. So SP no longer retail in the UK? Karma is a wonderful thing. Will look out for the Gardiner brothers in the town centre door ways;)

Are there any .50 cal markers out yet? Anyone used one? Surely it will mean boxes of 2.5k & better value for money?

Rate of fire seems to have gone down a lot as well over the past 12 months. Are most events still 270 fps?

I see pumps appear to be making a come back which brings back some nice memories.

Nope, SP closed its doors in Europe a few months ago and have continued through to rest of the company. There are rumours of the DLX Luxe being produced in a Dye factory, so people shooting Luxes could still be safe, and the Gardner brothers do have a finger in the .50cal pie, seeing as they designed the G.I Milsim .50 cal markers. They'll still be around for a while, just under a different name.

.50 cal markers are starting to float around, along with .50 cal hoppers. Piper's got one of the milsim markers, and posted them somewhere in the .50cal section. They look to be pretty nice markers and there is (or was) also a .50cal impulse. Planet have a drop in kit to convert the ego into a .50cal marker, and the Millenium series are allowing .50cal to be shot alongside .68cal, so companies are definately starting to get ready for it hitting the market. It's definately coming in, albeit to mixed feelings.

As for value, it's predicted that boxes of 2000 .50cal paint will be 30% cheaper than the .68cal equivilant.
