PMR frame leak

I had just finished cleaning the reg on my PMR 09, put it back on gassed it up and it started leaking from the frame, i could hear it coming from the middle near the trigger and could feel air coming out of the trigger area. I read the thread below about a pmr leaking fromt he frame and so proceeded to take out the the solenoid, clean it and relubed it. Put it back together and the leak is now worse than before, its not blasting out of the trigger area.

Also, when i checked my bolt for problems Oring 013 (the only one facing vertical) was broken so i replaced and all other Orings are intact.

Could it be i need a new solenoid?

Any help would be most appreciated.

Hello,

Usually any leaks out between the frame and the body are caused by the #15 both sail O-ring being damaged or not sealing correctly. Would be worth trying that before looking at the solenoid. The PMR 09 solenoids are very resiliant.
If not as Jack says, drop Ash an email on eurotech (@) dyeprecision.com

Hope that helps it,

Tommy

Hi

It sounds like the problem started with the output pressure of the Hyper3 reg being set too high. And then, in removing the solenoid more damage has occurred. Most likely to the solenoid gasket.

In all honesty, there is no need to regularly clean the internals of the Hyper3 reg periodically - its best left well alone unless there is actually a problem.

If you could e-mail me on eurotech@dyeprecision.com your full name, address, contact telephone number along with the colour and serial number of your marker and brief description of what you did to the reg when cleaning it and the solenoid when you removed it, I will be able to assist you much better.

Thanks

Ok, i'll give you an email. I was cleaning my per the advice of a team mate. I had been experiencing an a extreme drop in air efficiency (only hopper and 2 pods off 3k) and when i mentioned i hadnt cleaned my reg, having put 50,000 plus balls through he said it was the reg. I'll give you an email Ash.

Cheers for your help everyone.

Hey dude,

Most of the time, especially with paintball markers, it's better to play safe with problems like this, where you aren't certain with the components you are dealing with like solenoids as they are pretty tricky parts.

and a lot of the time, even if it seems to be a problem somewhere else, I swear tat 80% are actually bolt problemos :D , I always make sure everything's going strong there efore anywhere else.

Edit: Is this borley footshooter? :) - Hey dude I'd be happy to take your gun in for you if you need to cos I live less than an hour away from Dye?

Trust me, i had looked everywhere before the solenoid. I've recently discovered that the gasket isnt just broken, its missing. It may have fallen out coz it was broken when i took out the solenoid the first time but i never saw it, either way its gone now. I thnk thats the problem but im gonna to hear back from Ash.

i'm having the exact same problem. everything is lubed and i've just changed all the o-rings on the bolt just to be sure and still leaking out.

i actually noticed the leak after firing single shots there was a hiss after the trigger pull, the hiss gradually got longer after a few more trigger pulls, now when gassed up air leaks from the trigger area.

ballsey- keep us posted on the fix as i'm baffled as to what else to try.

thanks

Im still waiting to hear from Ash, but im very confident its the fact my gasket is, well gone. I think it happened coz i took my reg off without winding the fps screw all the way in. So i think my solution is a new a new gasket, gonna wait to see what Ash says before i act on anything.

is the gasket you're on about the 0.8 x 1cm black piece with 4/5 holes in it, the part that goes between the noid and the body? mine is there but looks perfectly intact.

well annoyed as this was the most reliable marker out of all the guys i go with, now its let me down at 2 events as the problem seemed to subside after replaceing all the o-rings, but its back worse than ever :(
