compared to high end markers i would agree lump, but if i had to choose between a mini or a G3, it would have to be the G3 all day long. :)
I shot a mini for a year as part of a sponsorship (in 2006-07), and never had any issue with it. Some teams did play millenium in SPL with the mini, it isn't a bad marker.
On this day, I still have it and it is a great cheap back up.

Man some of the people in this thread...seriously.

So, its ok to go worship every EGO that comes out, but theres no need for any competing poppet based markers?

And just because the previous generation markers had there flaws, this one is automatically disregarded?

How many of you pretentious posers love Bob Long guns? cos the intimidators were questionably unreliable and un-userfriendly (clamshell, barbs etc), but now Bob has some nice guns (the Marq platform for instance). So, we should have disregarded the Marq, Closer, Victory etc because of this? NO

How many of you have ever owned anything by Smart Parts? Enough said.

Yeah, now you have answered those questions honestly perhaps readjust your perspective.

As for the comment "so you'd spend £500 on this?!?!!" well I dont see why not most the "gun whore" people waste that much per month trading in for their latest fancy so you arent shy of a bob or two (maybe a braincell).

note - people were calling for Cook$ rants to make a comeback, well this is mine.

The only reason I didn't go for a DP G3 is when i was in the market was because of their efficiency and their board, since this is a poppet and has a nice little OLED display, it'll be nice to see what they've done with it.

And this new patented technology sounds interesting. I think this may be a nice contender, pending some on-paper information.
:p

In replay to your question.. Yes I have owned a smart-parts ion (Upgraded the sh*t out of it) The G3 I have to say is superior in every sense apart from the Board (i prefer microswitch) and effeciency.. but i can manage. Also, the G3 just feels like its always ready to shoot.. with my ion (even today) I still feel like holding my 4 leaf clover, whilst sitting on a piece of wood with a horse shoe attached to it whenever I air it up.. so used to the buggers leaking. But both perform well when required.

But aaannyyywayy..

Ill see what I can find out about this new patented technology.. possible something that results in a smoother shot? we will see
