Chipping is so 80's

Get a piggy back. Allot more control and you can tweak it yourself if you find a flat spot (usb conection to laptop). Will cost you abit extra but tbh it's worth it.

Greddy Emanage Ultimate is the one i used. Amazin bit of kit and can be used to control water\meth injection too. They have loads of features check em out.

HKS Fcon is also another nice one gives you all the features of a standalone ecu but it's also a piggy back.

Plus when you sell the car you can just take them out and sell em seperate :D

I really want to keep the mod's to an absolute minimum, and that's the reason why I thought of the Superchips upgrade. You can flash the Mgmt system back to normal for it's service. I'm just a bit worried that with the new Beamers the service is not fixed but when needed. If it goes back to the dealer with only 3k on the clock for it's first service, suspicions may be aroused.

I just really don't want to be embarressed by Focus STs all the time. That'll be undignified.

This was a sensible idea back when I knew what I was talking about.

Superchips and Startchips (were/are) designed with wide parameters so that they would work with any car (of the selected model).

They will not however make the most of whatever that car is capable of.

So people who had cams and so on, would not get the potential from a Superchip, that they could have with a piggy back.

The Unichip can be set up to make the most of your standard car and then simply be re-mapped should you make any additional changes.

From what I understand, should you want to revert to standard mapping...you just unplug it...

With regards to insurance. If you have an accident and they find it, you are screwed. Consider if the accident prevents you from removing it before (via the damage or your incapacitation).

Adrian Flux (was/are) teh best insurance company for modified vehicles, so consider changing. I was once quoted £2500 to insure my car (years ago) as standard when I approached Link Insurance. Adrian Flux insured me with them for £1200 with various mods declared.

Modding you car, can save you money.

not wanting to spoil your fun, but does your insurance company object? Would be a rather glum day if they didnt pay out because of it.
To be fair, if they did, Glen would organise a hostile takeover and crush his insurance company so they could barely afford to cover bicylces.

Although I have had a bit to drink. And am planning another big ride. Hence the bicycles on the brain. And I've realised that I start a fair amount of posts with "To be fair".

And my qualifier was actually longer than the content.
