This is one of those things that sneaks up on you without you really noticing.

Now, I am kind of ignorant when it comes to politics, but doesn't a President have to be elected by the people? Did I miss it, or was there just an election in Europe?

Not that I have anything against the guy, who incidentally is called Herman Van Romper.

(I know that is not the correct spelling of his surname, but apparently that is how to pronounce it).

He has a sister, Tina Van Romper, who allegedly likes dogging.

:)

I don't know how you came to RompER, as that is totally not how it's pronounced... ;)

Anyway, a president doesn't have to be elected by the people, it all depends on what he's president of and how that organisation's statutes are written up.

Hope that makes it all a little clearer.

Not as good a name as a paper I read by Hans Van Dongen. Best name ever.

Another good paper was by Chee and Choo. I kid you not.

I don't even remember there being a call for a european president, I must really be out of the political loop.

European Politics is all about the "backdoor effect."

The primary vehicle for policy acceptence is Political Correctness - amazing what left wing bull**** you can get away with when you wave the banner of the "right thing to do".

I haven't been keeping up with things - does this mean Tony Blair lost the race?
