Just to be safe don't keep it screwed together and ready to use, keep it out of sight and don't leave stuff visible in the cabin when you leave the car.

You should check with your 'carrier' to cross the channel - EuroTunnel or a ferry for what declarations they need.

There is a link on the EuroTunnel about gas tanks (Realy about LPG/Calor gas etc) If a paintball air tank falls wihtin this then you just have to declare it.
For firearms you just need to be legal, declare, and lock them up / keep out of vision etc.

Check you are up to date with the latest updates to the law effecting driving in France:

As Fisz ^

Did once get pulled into the Customs shed at Dover and asked if I was carrying any "Guns or Knives" when they opened a boot full of kitbags, but I wasn't was I!

Don't use the tunnel, but I would suggest that an empty bottle doesn't come into the same category as a Calor gas cylinder

give Germany a miss.........
Tom TBH I've had no issues driving to Germany with kit in the car, I think you are more likely to have issues flying.

There are no boarder control points any more and the chance of a random tug and search of the car is pretty low. Though I appreciate that there would then be an issue with non F stamped equipment, should the ******* want there to be! Can't ever remember seeing as much as a squad car near any events either.

Ah but a discrete phone call to the authorities could result in a surveillance team following you for 3 weeks, then raiding you when your on the toilet.:)
