What could have been.

Was going to put this up as a new thread but didn't want the grief from people who can't be bothered to follow all the news.

This could possibly of been the best event the Millennium ever put on, and I've been to most, a stunning location, next to an amazing holiday complex, gorgeous turf and all the fields easily accessible and within easy walking distance of paint and facilities.
Now read that again but emphasize "COULD" so near but just off the mark, but this is not a dig at the Millennium, and I've had reason to have a few but in my time as a team owner. This is a dig at the paint suppliers, and to be honest I've even got sympathy for them too. They got their paint here which I'm told was a feat in itself but unfortunately they didn't educate the people here on what a volatile product paint can be and how, like players, you have to molly-coddle it to get the best out of it.
Now I'm not going to name names, as I said, this is a problem with the end of the line, but having a climate controlled truck is ok, unless of course you turn it off during the night and then "Shock" the paint by chilling it first thing in the morning, as I said not many players can cope with that either.
But in that suppliers diffence at least they had a climate controlled truck, the other paint was brought on day one in an half open-sided flat bed that was kept cool by moving it around during the day to keep it in the shade.
Now I'm sure a few of you, or maybe even most of you are thinking this is just sour-grapes because we got our asses kicked in the first round of the Sunday Club, but when you have a team come up to you and say "oh you hit us all but they didn't break" and Marshalls saying that they felt sorry for you because they could see you hitting guys but couldn't pull them because nothing was leaving a hit, you'd feel pretty p*ssed off too, especially after the way your team had come back a massive first 4 points to win their 3rd of 3 prelim games.
I may well regret this and even know I'm tempted to just delete this post, but if nobody says anything then in 12 months time we could all be sitting in a great hotel drinking all inclusive and still feeling like we just didn't quite have "The Best Tourney Ever", now thats a thread I might start.;):(

Just in case any paint suppliers are ever going to read this I feel I need to, if not back-track, maybe take a wide step to the side to avoid the large truck I've just knocked out of gear on a very steep hill, (a non-refridgerated truck)
I am very appreciative of all the help we have had this season, which to be honest all those responsible have, and will be made aware of our appreciation.
This is totally aimed at the lack of education of the people left in charge of the care of our most valuble comodity, the PAINT.
I've been very lucky to have played with some of the best, and some of the worst paint, which made the best seem even better, and have credited both with helping with our success with equal vigor, as all sponsored teams should do.
I just hope this helps to make any future events in Turkey the total experience it so could have been.

Pete, it certainly wasn't like any other Millennium I've been too, the trade stand reminded me of the first concept tournies, Speedball and Arenaball (ask your Dad's kids) the trade was lacking the number of teams schedued to attend was small, the number who did attend was even smaller, but I honestly think this could and if my man in the Millennium is to be believed, will be a very good event.
It was ironic that the usual American hired gun "Kit-bag" sale was the biggest and most keenly attended "trade" stand there.

On another note Benfica was covered, as was Dogs, so hopefully to Jerseys coming back with Petey.
