If you still have problems after changing to a good quality battery, check the solenoid for any obvious damage, make sure the QEV diaphragms are in good nick, check rammer orings (particularly the middle one), then clean and lube the LPR piston oring, though I doubt that's your problem.

Bit too far for me to have a look at.

Is there enough air in the bottle, have you tried another bottle ?
Does the bolt snap into the back position when you air up ?

Bolt pin located correctly into the rammer ?
Did you change the #11 rammer oring ?
Grease on the HPR and LPR piston orings, and oil on the rammer orings.

Have you put the shims in the HPR back in correctly, 16 shims,
should go in like this -> )()()()()()()()(

Hear any leaks ?

Has the solenoid got any sign of external damage?

If thinner grips (like Hybrid) are installed without using shorter screws they can damage the housing. The solenoid can be stripped an serviced provided you can get the parts. This is a really good step by step guide...

They are still listed on the Eclipse website - but at £120 it almost what an Ego 5 is worth

or from the states - same price in dollars

Maybe you can borrow a working noid from someone to compare? You don't say if you re-checked it after rebuild with a proven tank full of air. It's basics like that that need sorting before throwing money at it. Also talk to original owner to get some history on it.
