Im a uni student at reading, with my parents based down in alton. So my coverage of south games/centres is pretty wide.

I want to take it a bit more seriously with a mate and play most weekends. There doesn't seem to be a section on any of the main paintballing centre sites for 'regulars'.

So the question Im trying to ask is :
What is the best way to go about getting involved in casual regular paintballing?

contact your local sites, and ask them if they have walk on days.

although they wont be every week, most are once a month, but the more sites you call, the more weekends you can play.

Thanks for that advice.

Walkon prices seem to be about £25 for the day but you still have to buy paint from the centre. So this will work out costing more than a standard day which doesn't make sense.

Hey bud, as the other guys have said the best way for regular, casual balling is to attend walkons which are normally as random invert said every month. It's the way i began playing. The fact you are at reading uni is useful for you as well as if you and you're friend choose to step up to tournament paintball, you have the KOTH and NSPL events being played at Reading as well as Newton Abbot. The KOTH is a good place to start if you do decide to play tournament.

But yeah walk-ons are a great way of regularly playing at much better prices than usual. A good place to start would be to look up all the sites that are easily accessible to you and check via their forums/e-mail/telephone if they do walkons. If you do decide to play regular walkons i couldn't recommend more purchasing you're own marker, most rec ballers who attend regular walk ons prefer to use Tippman A5's or a good starter tournie gun such as an Ion. It is of course you're choice though.

I would also recommend regularly checking these forums for details on various walk ons around the country, various sites advertise walk on days on here.

Best of luck.

Thar be good advice. I found somewhere I can play every month on here, but it doesn't hurt to ask around your local sites.

On these forums is a wealth of knowledge on anything you'd like to ask. We're a helpful bunch, so don't be afraid to ask.
:p

Welcome to the life of being a student and a baller. No money all round!

Cheers for the help guys.
Just wanna get an idea of cost before I go heading into this crazy sport...

It's looking like you can't easily get round paying at least £30 for a days trip out, even if it is with a team.
- Is that roughly correct? or as you get better do you use more paint and get creamed further for a days entertainment.

Then for a setup
Ive been looking in the forsale forums/gear forums and cooked up this build

Mask - dye 14
